It was wonderful to try the 1988 Giacomo Conterno Monfortino and the 1988 Gaja Costa Russi beside each other. The Monfortino being a clear winner for me.
I was disappointed in the 2001 Masseto and need to try it again but I think I am coming to the opinion it is not worth the money.
2013 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Guardiola 91 Points
Italy, Sicily, Etna DOC
Nose of strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, spice and tobacco. Light smooth delicate palate with a long length. Very much like a Burgundy.

Old school Brunello made in 30-50 hectolitre french oak barrels. Sour cherries and red fruits on the nose with a light pleasant palate.

Hmmm. What can I say but I just did not think this wine was worth the praise. Nose of forest floor, mushrooms, plumbs and spice. Slightly disjointed on the palate. PASS
