Complex bouquet. Luxury oak. Leather and tobacco. Soft and round. Good harmony. Firm amount of tannin, bitter and fruit. Will improve with ageing, but will never be great.
Juicy candy. Has a little more depth than the other Blaufränkisch wines I tasted. The aftertaste is quite long. If you like very fruity candy-like wines this is not a bad option.
A very strange wine. Combines the Blaufränkisch candy tastes with the taste of Cabernet and Merlot. The result is a very special wine, with a strange combination of flavours. I do not score it, but for my taste 78 or 79 would be about right.
Sweet start. Some complexity. Well dosed new oak. Soft tannin and bitterness. Ripe black forest fruits. Now ready and with potential for a few more years.
This is a mouth full of wine. Blood, chocolate, leather, cassis. Enormously full bodied. The 90 years old vines produce something special. Well dosed oak. This wine needs more time; 3 years to start with.
Full bodied and mature wine. A somewhat sweet start with ripe red and black fruits. Soft bitterness. Pleasant oak. Fairly complex. The wine is ready now and has enough power to last for some years more.
Already quite mature. Sweet start. A lot of ripe forest fruits like cherries, blackberries and blueberries. Leather as well. Good oak and soft tannin. Long aftertaste. Excellent wine.
A lot of oak in the bouquet as well as the taste. There is good citrus acidity to handle it. Considering the price this is one of my favourite white Bordeaux.
Compared to Clos Floridene there is less oak and more citrus acidity. Because of this the wine is a little more elegant and less complex. Very pure and pleasant wine.
Quite disappointing after drinking the 2005. The oak is less profound, but there still is some butter and bitterness. There is just a little fresh acidity left. Is this wine already on its way down, or will it recover?
Enormous! A lot of smoky oak. All sorts of tropical and citrus fruits. Nuts like almonds. Oak, acidity, sweetness, bitterness all in beautiful harmony. Great! And complex wine.
