This tasting featured a trio of old Inglenook wines and a talk about the history of the Inglenook Winery and Napa Valley in general.
As with many old wines, some are better than others, but it is always fun and educational no matter what.
2014 Frog's Leap Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford 88 Points

Very pale green. 2oz pour. Very similar to a recent bottle. Grapefruit, lime, good acid cut, average finish. A solid offering. 88+pts.

2012 Duxoup Charbono Frediani Vineyard 88 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley
Dark red color. 2oz pour over 45 minutes. Fun little wine, and rather tasty. The nose intrigues with a mix of fruits, boysenberry, hints of blueberry, plum, fuzzy cedarbox. The palate is on the lighter side of medium, nice soft fruits, blue and red, a slight green streak, good acidity, spice and soft tannins. The attack is very nice with a little hole toward the end.

2012 Inglenook Rubicon 92 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford
VEry dark red color. Decanted for 3.5hrs, drank a 3.5 oz pour over 90 minutes. I like what I see here. this shows promise. Very restrained, not over the top in any way. The fruit is pretty, the oak is controlled, nice texture, good length. On the nose I find black currants, licorice, mulberry, cedar, hints of strawberry. The palate is medium full bodied, sophisticated, black currants, dusty tannins, cedar, elegant. INice to try in its youth, and I look forward to seeing where they go. 91+ to 92(+?)pts.
