Tasted double blind. Wowza. Immediately thought Meursault with its waxy richness and nuttiness. Such concentration I could only imagine it from either Lafon or Coche in a ripe vintage. Thought Coche Caillerets 2006.

Oxidized to start. More oxidized 30 minutes later.

Served blind in a Vogüé flight. Alluring aromatic start with ripe black fruit and great spice. Similar flavors but with less intensity. This slowly softened and matured in glass. Best when first poured, in fact my favorite of the flight, but least favorite two hours later. Drink up sooner rather than later. I correctly identified this as Grand Cru, as 2000 was my 2nd choice for vintage.

Served blind in a Vogüé flight. Rich black and blue fruit with unmistakable Grand Cru density. Still slightly backward. wonderful now with upside. Once the 2000 Musigny was unveiled in this flight, I was told the remaining three cuvees, and correctly identified each once told the vintage (although I initially thought 1999).

Served blind in a Vogüé flight. Red and black fruit with great freshness, mineral notes and energy. Did not show Grand Cru density, but a surreal weightlessness I most often associate with great Amoureuses. Once the 2000 Musigny was unveiled in this flight, I was told the remaining three cuvees, and correctly identified each once told the vintage (although I initially thought 1999). This Amoureuses is beautiful now, but this should remain wonderful for another decade. (But I've heard about bottle variation on this wine.)

Served blind in a Vogüé flight. Black fruit with moderate weight, but excellent overall balance and harmony. Very pleasurable right now. Much more charming than another bottle from one year ago. Once the 2000 Musigny was unveiled in this flight, I was told the remaining three cuvees, and correctly identified each once told the vintage (although I initially thought 1999).

NV Ulysse Collin Champagne Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Les Maillons
France, Champagne
Floral and almost rose-like with bright red berry alongside some apple. Slightly mouth-puckeringly bone dry, a little more "extra" than I prefer.
