Tasting, brief note. Also all from 2014, this time 100% Pinot Noir. Rounded textures with long of berry aromas and flavors. Good+ overall, but not nearly as exciting to meas the Cuvee Diana Blanc de Blancs just tasted.
Tasting, brief note. An unusual Champagne. Barrel aged and the richness from the used Meursault barrels offsets the sharpness of no dosage. Good length and complexity here, and very atypical. Very interesting wine, atypical label as well.
Tasting, brief note. Strawberry with a bright sens of energy. Good elngth. Will be a great value wine. Bottled two weeks ago, so my first 2016 Burg from bottle!
Tasting, brief note. Black berries on nose and palate with very good concentration for its level. Still slightly firm and a bit rugged now, but I like the potential 2019 forward.
Tasting, brief note. Black and red fruit with good structure and good+ balance. More accessible vs Ragonneau and more elegant, but seemed to have slightly less concentration.
Tasting, brief note. Apple and lemon to start, rounded and soft for Aligote, with good length. Very good for its level, very good value. Another very successful 2015 Aligote!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Ripe fruit with full mouth feel that I often associate with Meursault Blagny. Moderate fruit concentration, good for its level, good overall.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune
Tasting, brief note. Black and red fruit comes across as balanced and nicely integrated fo right now. Very good for its level, certainly great for early enjoyment, even if tough to say how this will evolve.
Tasting, brief note. Black and red berries on nose and palate, also showing wonderful integration already. Good+ weight for Villages with very good length. A great value wine.
Tasting, brief note. Very good aromas with floral notes, spice, red cherry. Also rustic and firm on palate, particularly the finish. Good+ potential, needs time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Monthélie 1er Cru
Tasting, brief note. Black and red cherry with a firm, rustic character. While not giving much pleasure today, this has an intriguing long and powerful finish. Worth re-trying in a few years.
Tasting, brief note. Bigger and better balance vs the Monthélies just tasted. All red fruit, seemingly at least as much Volnay character as Pommard. There is a reserved elegance here, with very good potential, but patience will be required.
Tasting, brief note. Bright red fruit with excellent concentration for a villages wine and very good balance. Still a bit rugged and rustic, but this shows the subtle complexities of the vintage perfectly. Hold to at least 2020, probably 2025.
Tasting, brief note. Rich start with ripe black cherry aromas and flavors. More firm middle to finish, slightly austere, ending very Pommard in character.
Tasting, brief note. A step up for me vs the Pommard AC, this is also rich but less rugged. Longer and more elegant with very good concentration. Should drink well as early as 2020, 89-90 point potential. Excellent for its level.
Tasting, brief note. A small step up from Pommard Perrieres, this is bigger and more dense. Perhaps slightly less elegant today, but slightly better potential. Cellar to at least 2025, 90-91 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. All black fruit with a new layer of spice and textural nuance over the Pommards just tasted. Very good length. 91-92 point potential, possibly as early as 2020.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry and plum with roasted meat aromas and flavors. Elegant tannins and very good concentration, but it seems slightly backward right now vs Latricieres, even if the greater density foreshadows its future superiority. Cellar to 2022 or later, 92-93 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Classically styled with rich orchard fruit flavors and aromas, without seeming too ripe. Good aromas, very good flavors and textures. Very good weight for its level, this should be a very good value wine.
Tasting, brief note. Apple and pear throughout. Starts slightly opulent, then gets leaner middle forward, while still coming across as weighty and concentrated for its level. Very good+ overall for its level.
Tasting, brief note. Subtle floral start with ripe apple and some roasted hazelnut and marzipan. Very good weight for its level. Moderate length and finesse. Certainly good now with some upside (89 points?) in another year or two.
Tasting, brief note. Floral hints to start with rich orchard fruit aromas, flavors. Richer to start, more textured on the finish. Very good+ for its level. Better today vs when last tasted a year ago. Ready to drink/ enjoy now.
Tasting, brief note. Slight floral notes to start with flavors and aromas of apple and quince. Fun and enjoyable already, but good textures and structural support. Very good for its level.
Tasting, brief note. Ripe red and black berries. A few rough edges give a rustic feel for now. Good for its level, but not nearly as good as the Bourgogne Blanc.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Tasting, brief note. Forward black and red berries here with some meaty notes. Moderate weight and length, very good balance. A great villages level wine, even if an expensive one.

Tasting, brief note. Black berries with olive tapenade and black pepper. Very classically Northern Rhone. Elegant and charming start, slightly firm finish. Good now, better in a few years. Good value wine.
Tasting, brief note. Black and red berries with meaty character and background spice. Somewhat burly today, this will benefit from time in the cellar, 5+ years? Good length and power. Good+ potential.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tasting, brief note. Black fruit with olives and baking spice. Open, soft, very enjoyable start, but ending with a more complex and refined finish. Very good.
