I believe this has some oak influence, 11.3% alcohol. Violet aromatics, orange, mixed spices - good lift to the nose. There is some broadness to the fruit, but there is a good acid line to go along with it. Good texture gives it some interest. Not sure how this would age but it's a good effort for the second vintage of this wine.

Smoke, honey, melon, toast and apple on the nose. The palate is quite sweet and rounded, there is a pinch of alcohol that shows through as well. This feels like it has developed well, with good structure still. Drink over the next 5 years.

Blind. Cherry, stemmy, ash and smoke with some raspberry notes as well. Plenty of stem and ash character on the palate as well, there is good acidity that props up the structure of the wine. Drinking reasonably well, I wouldn't hold further bottles too much longer.

Lightly coloured. Roses, strawberry, blueberry and some cola on the light but lifted nose. Some very light stem on the palate, quite delicate but it feels a little lacking in character, showing more on the nose than the palate. I do quite like it, I'd just hope for some extra depth at this kind of price point.

Aromatically tight, some blackberry and earth with cherry as well. Palate has good structure, the tannins and acidity work well together. I have a good feeling that this will be more expressive and showing more interest in a couple of years time.

Charcoal, licorice, earth and blackcurrant. Good mix of fruit, tannin and acidity on the palate. Nice savoury feel to the fruit. In really good shape actually, has developed with age but still shows very fresh. Great detail and focus. Lovely wine.

Meaty funk, stalk, lemon, earthy and smoky - quite interesting on the nose. Palate is a little bit sweet and sour, though the sourness is maybe just a touch too high. High acidity and medium length. Definitely needs the right kind of crowd to appreciate it for what it is. Given the price I probably wouldn't return soon.

Lots of chocolate, with earth, redcurrant and old cedar. Still shows sweet fruit on the palate, with elegance and composure. Started to fade in the glass, but still held enjoyment. A pleasant encounter.

Olives, cherry, redcurrant, light earth and light herbs through the nose - very attractive. The palate is lighter in style with the vintage helping this to take a couple of steps back in power - still it feels quite stylish and it is drinking really well now and I'd expect over the next 5 or so years.

Olives and meat, with licorice and menthol. Sweet fruit on the palate, but it feels well balanced and has some nice savoury elements to it. Good length, this is really solid without being especially exciting.

Blackcurrant, ripe cherry and redcurrant, plum and spice on the nose. Good primary fruit profile, this has punchy intensity with the tannin structure to match well. Good acidity and balance, plenty of potential.

Ash, cedar, earth and violets on the nose. Good flavour intensity on the palate while still showing a cool restraint to the fruit. Plenty of time ahead of this wine as it has excellent structure and I think the balance will continue to be maintained.

Tar, oak, black cherry and blueberry. Intense on the palate, but retains good fruit detail and drive. Punchy and intense, but still rather enjoyable. Give it more time to shine.

A nice mix of spice, earth, raspberry, cherry, tobacco and roses - quite complex but also pretty. Quite fresh on the palate, plenty of fruit and acidity. Has plenty of structure and really good length. I took the remains home and it was still holding really well 3 days later, so I think more time will be of benefit.

Blind. 80% Nebbiolo, 20% Barbera. Earth, peaches, violets and raspberry with some vanilla and musk as well. Good tannins, quite clingy. Doesn't taste all that much like Nebbiolo, but I still found it interesting.

750ml. Lime, watermelon, spice, orange peel, lime and pear with some yellow and white floral notes. Very youthful and pure on the palate, the acidity is strong and tames the sweetness beautifully. Still feels quite tight, though it has super length. Plenty of time remaining for this to develop further.

Under screwcap. Pear, wax, straw, toast, orange peel and white florals - plenty happening on the nose already here. Quite rich on the palate, good intensity to the fruit. Obviously young but it has good depth already, as well as good length. Would love to see this with some time.

Quite tight on the nose, with some wax, herb and lemon. The palate is nice, with plenty of minerality and good balance throughout. Perhaps it is in a bit of an awkward spot at the moment as it isn't showing as well as a couple of years ago, I think it should come out the other side showing much better.
