An echo of the earlier Riesling tasting on Wednesday of this week gave me an opportunity to have a second look at most of the wines I saw there and also try some others that I missed in the rush
Another exceedingly pleasant Riesling tasting…The Heymann Lowenstein wines increasingly impress...
2016 Wittmann Riesling Estate Dry

2016 Weingut Willi Bründlmayer Riesling Terrassen Kamptal
Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal
Slight herbaceous over citrus, slight crushed rock. Tight, juicy tending to tartness, citrus. Hmm lacks weight for me for an Austrian Riesling…which isn't really a bad thing…

2016 Weingut Willi Bründlmayer Riesling Lyra 1ÖTW Reserve Ried Heiligenstein
Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal
Perfumed lime and lemon, cool, stony minerality. Juicy, tart but with a little more breadth than the Kamptaler Terrassen. More lemon than on the palate but savoury and backed by lees. Travels long.

2016 Frankland Estate Riesling Isolation Ridge Vineyard
Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Frankland River
Savoury, slight struck match, wild ferment, slightly yoghurty lees more than fruit on the nose though there are lime and apple notes. In the mouth it's juicy, tangy and mineral. Quite structured and long.

2016 Georg Breuer Riesling Estate Rüdesheim
Germany, Rheingau
Citrus tang with apples and slightly dusty spice. Juicy acidity with a little residual sugar…it's a bit meh though, for me.

high toned, quite citrus, green apples. Cool minerals notes. Slightly spritzy, savoury, perhaps, for me, a little soft

2016 A. Christmann Ruppertsberger Riesling
Germany, Pfalz
Rich, peachy, ripe but fresh. Again the acidity is a little lacking but his is very pleasant if not a little young. Travels long, quite tangy. Good

2016 Gunderloch Nierstein Riesling Trocken
Germany, Rheinhessen
Lime, apple, mineral Juicy, mineral on the palate as well with slight spritzy, young though. Needs time. And that lack of fruit on the palate is a concern.

2016 Gunderloch Jean Baptiste Riesling Kabinett
Germany, Rheinhessen
Medium minus intensity aromas of apples, crushed stone backed by slight struck match and woody floral notes. Off dry sweetness up front but juicy with apples and pear married to slaty notes and a bit of mid palate grip. Good.

2016 Loosen Bros. Riesling Dr. L

smells a little sulphurous and sharp, touches of green apple, citrus and struck match. On the palate it's bone dry, juicy, a little sharp, tight in fact and a little short.

2016 Weingut Heymann-Löwenstein Hatzenporter Kirchberg Riesling
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Again wild ferment and leesy funk are present but the fruit is a little bolder offering apples, floral top notes and earthy spice. Also a fair mineral element. Juicy, fleshy, long, really very good indeed. Beautifully balanced. Great

2016 Dönnhoff Riesling
Germany, Nahe
A little bland, perhaps, with citrus and apple but a little more ripeness here and backed by touches of slate. Quite spritzy, tangy, tight with plenty of lees contact I'm guessing.

2015 Georg Breuer Riesling Auslese
Germany, Rheingau
From half bottle. Peaches, cream, touches of apple with hints of strudel as well. Great nose. Rich, generous and unctuous on the palate, juicy acidity offset the sugar levels near perfectly - well balanced. Perhaps it is a little simple but this is very nice.
