  Astringent on the palate, damask cherries just in case on the nose because this staff is using a glass cleaner so strong in this bar that kills the smells of wine. Reach the reception desk. Meanwhile CT has lost the word Clos.

Less busy on day two but with a poor wine list. Only sweetie Lola (plus Justino's) saved the day.

  Smells like a young Gamay with notes of strawberry jelly and toasted cereals along with some memory of charcoal. Good level of complexity for what it is. On the palate it is very simple, short and without any depth.
  
  Huele a un Gamay joven con notas de gominola de fresa y cereales tostados junto con algún recuerdo a carbón vegetal. Buen nivel de complejidad para lo que es. Al paladar es muy simple, corta y sin profundidad alguna.

  After Justino's Madeira this drink is very scarce.

  Bitter but balanced on the palate with a sharp acidity and a tasty final. By the way this is the appellation some well-known critic send me when I asked about information about 'Irancy' long time ago ... Funny.

  Amargo pero equilibrado en boca con una puntiaguda acidez y un sápido final. Por cierto esta es la apelación a la que me mandaba un buen conocido crítico cuando le preguntaba por 'Irancy' tiempo hace ... Divertido.

  Coravined. Much more honeyed than two and a half years ago. It retains the minerality but the notes of wild honey and ripe white fruit flourish.
  My sort of white wine. In five years a classic.

  Raspberry and earth on the nose. Too direct, without having developed complexity yet. Acid and certainly unbalanced in the palate. The vintage doesn't help either. A cold year as some tacky guys like to say.

  Coravined. Really elegant as belonging to another denomination. As you can see the hand of the maker is here even at this level. Intense scented with memories of red fruits assembled in wood. Floral and at the same time meaty. Acid and quite long in the mouth. Long way ahead being just a Marsannay. Even in Burgundy the producer is above the terroir.
  
  Mediante Coravin. Realmente elegante como perteneciente a otra denominación. Como se nota la mano del elaborador. Intensamente perfumado con recuerdos a frutos rojos ensamblados en madera. Floral y a la vez cárnico. Ácido y bastante largo en boca. Largo camino por delante siendo solo un Marsannay. Incluso en Borgoña el productor está por encima del terreno.

  Without looking for the most miserable complexity here, this champagne stands out for its rough aromas of white fruit (apples and pears) with a bubble too intrusive and a short length. Harmless, without personality. It is also too sweet for my taste. The definition of little jewel without a doubt :-)
  
  Sin buscar la más mísera complejidad aquí, este champán destaca por sus toscos aromas a fruta blanca (manzanas y peras) con una burbuja demasiado intrusiva y una escasa longitud. Inofensivo, sin personalidad. Además es demasiado dulce para mi gusto. La definición de joyita sin duda :-)

  On the nose all without memories of the terroir with clayey, calcareous notes and some memory of charcoal. All very strong and direct.
  The palate is so young, so resounding that it feels astringent and something heavy, alcoholic even. Aniseed aftertaste. Needs time to calm down and integrate a little more. Even with that I doubt that it will reach high levels. Vigneron indépendant, alright but modern to the bone.
  
  En nariz todo sin recuerdos del terreno con notas arcillosas, calcáreas y alguna nota pérdida de carbón vegetal. Todo muy duro y directo.
  Al paladar es tan joven, tan rotundo que se siente astringente y algo pesado, alcohólica incluso. Retrogusto anisado. Necesita tiempo para calmarse e integrarse un poco más. Aún con eso dudo que llegue a alcanzar altas cotas. Un productor independiente, conforme pero moderno hasta decir basta.

The place everybody's recommending ... and there's a reason why: Yquem 2000, Mouton 1982 or Bonnes Mares all by the glass if you've got a deep pocket. Charming Colombian waitress told me wine list was renovated recently.

  Floral, scented with violets along with notes of mushrooms and black truffles. Let's add an earthy touch. Very good at this olfactory level. Short but quick on the palate. Wanna more and in need of five years to round off. Time will tell.

Quick visit on Saturday morning ... pero es siempre una gozada pasarse por aquí. De una parte siempre hay degustaciones gratuitas y de otra hablar de vinos mientras descorchas un Mauro 2005 para el staff y los vignerons... no tiene precio.

  Vast, modern, masculine and direct. Black fruit on the nose and pure coarseness in the mouth. Hard and slightly astringent. Totally tannic. Fifteen years would not hurt but from there to achieve greatness, there is a stretch. I always think very similar about this wine. The producer was ahead and I told him that it is an epitome of what a Cornas wine means. It has swollen like a turkey on thanksgiving.
  
  Vasto, moderno, masculino y directo. Fruta negra en nariz y la pura tosquedad en boca. Duro y ligeramente astringente. Totalmente tánico. Quince años no le vendrían mal pero de ahí a alcanzar la grandeza, hay un trecho. Siempre opino muy parecido de este vino. El productor estaba delante y le he dicho que es un epítome de lo que supone un vino de Cornas. Se ha hinchado como un pavo.

  Praised for soft, elegant, long, neither alcoholic nor warm. Hahahaha that gives an idea of ​​what these poor franchys expect when tasting Spanish wines. The vintage is not the best and I have all my hopes set on the 2003 magnum, when the warmers lived among us and knew more than the vines and winemakers.   Alabado por suave, elegante, largo, ni alcoholico ni cálido. Jajajaja eso da una idea de lo que esperan estos pobres gabachos al catar vinos españoles. Por mi parte lo encontré demasiado lineal, unidireccional, sápido y todavía un poco tanico. La añada no es la mejor y tengo todas mis esperanzas puestas en el magnum del 2003, cuando los calentólogos habitaban entre nosotros y sabían más que las viñas y los enólogos. Ahora al cabo de casi veinte años, calladitos como putas. Como debe ser.

  From a bottle opened a week ago. Sweet and gaining complexity but it shows young, with each element waging war by its side, without signing a unit.   Black olive, tarragon and pastry. Short on the palate, slightly alcoholic and acidic. Obviously there is a lack of balance here.
  
  Oliva negra, estragón y pastelería. Corto en boca, ligeramente alcohólico y ácido. Evidentemente falta equilibrio aquí.

Couldn't believe what a crap last time ... So this time flight company changed the departure area to one which has not priority lounge. Some call it karma ...

Since early 2015 I think this is my first stay in Paris without visiting Le Baron Rouge. 😢
