Soft tannins and medium fruit. Mature. Beautifully balanced with excellent finish. Probably at peak now.

Soft. Showing age. A hint of prunes. Tired or slightly heat damaged? The table was split on whether it was flawed or not, but I don't think it was beyond the typical bottle variation for a 27-year old wine. I tasted another bottle a couple of years ago and it was even more tired.

Surprisingly fruit-forward. Fresh with hints of ground black pepper. Medium tannins.

Just beautiful. Still young and the fruit is mostly primary. Mouth-coating tannins and a long, long finish. The best example I've tasted of this vintage.

Medium-plus fruit. Tannins well integrated. Starting to show some maturity (more so than the '02 we tasted side-by-side). Long, beautiful finish.

Fresh and fruit-forward. Baby-version of the '02. Great overall but a slight metallic note on the palate.

This was an odd one. When I smelled the bottle I got strong notes of TCA and wrote it off as corked. Once poured, however, there was no trace of it. Medium-to-big fruit. Still young.

Tannins starting to integrate. Slightly pruney, otherwise very nice.

This is a baby! Huge fruit. Typical cali cab. Just a very good one.

Surprisingly mellow - at least compared to the 2010. Well balanced with a beautiful finish.

Great nose. Palate started out thin/monolithic but developed very nicely in the glass. Dried fruits. Apricot. I initially rated this an 88 but upped it 3 points over 20 mins in the glass.

Medium amber color. Intense nose. Dried, tropical fruits. Peach, quince. I've had the '01 Rieussec a number of times and this was one of the better examples
