chamber of commerce) IHK Handelskammer, Hamburg
Tasted Monday, January 27, 2020 by fc1910 with 331 views
First try of the topical GG and Grosse Lage vintage 4 months after their release at Berlin.
Concentrated myself mostly on Rieslings today.
Again a speed tasting for all friends of the VDP, no chance to get to every booth.
The chamber of commerce in my hometown Hamburg is a very good location, there is plenty of space for everybody, therefore it is less crowded than other events.
You may think: huh, another euphoric German and his beloved Riesling? Mostly ****+? 90+ potential?
This tasting story is "only" filled with TNs of around two dozen estates. NOTE: all booths together you could have tried at more than a 140 estates.
Beforehand I decided which to try, to remember, only 5 hours total tasting time, no chance to get a fully picture........
I did miss some great estates from the Mosel and the Pfalz etc. for sure, and did not taste at least 4 zones at all.
But in my honest opion I tasted a lot of of the best Rieslings and therefore the rating only shows the high qualitay standart of GG Rieslings.......
Again a very convincing appearance from all tasted samples!
My only three reds of today. I missed this estate at Berlin, so go there first!
One glass, brief note: burgunby like showing, precise, but feminin, tasty red fruit, but not too predominant, the word is harmony, light to midbodied, great elegance, recommended, *(***), 91,92 potential
