  • Popped, poured, breathed in glass 15 minutes, consumed over next 90. Well balanced, excellent amplitude, fleshy fruit balanced by chalky, saline minerality with a satisfying, succulent finish. Opens up much more quickly than four or even two years ago, but still young and should cruise and improve with more time in the cellar.

  • Dinner at Perilla (Chicago, IL): Quite oily and thick, with the ripe vintage giving this some proper heft. Almost a bit sweet from the sheer amount of fruit here; surprisingly drinkable for the amount of stuffing this has right now -- and honestly, it's almost a question of why bother waiting?

  • The wine is clear, with pale lemon color, and thick legs.

On the nose, the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe citrus fruits, lemon, floral, white flowers blossom, white fruits, herbaceous, along with medium tertiary aroma intensity of honey and petroleum.

On the palate, the wine feels off-dry (www.weingutwittmann.de saying Dry), with medium plus acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus primary flavor intensity of ripe white fruits, citrus, grapefruit, floral, honeysuckle.

    Finish is long and vibrant.

The wine is of a very good quality, as it is showing great balance between fruit concentration, acidity and expressive minerality.
It is having excellent length, and showing complex character.

The wine was expressive enough at time of tasting, however would benefit from further bottle aging, in order to bring to the front more of its appealing tertiary characteristics.

  • Tasting Ground official tasting, Wittmann, A tale of 2 vineyards (Oinoscent): The wine shows density, structure, fragrance, citrus, stone fruit, vanilla rich smooth feeling and a beautiful nutty frame
Palate is juicy, structured, lemony acidity, full body, great length, rich tropical fruit in the long finish

  • Pop and pour. A couple of years since my last btl. This is just so good. Notes from day 2 open. On the nose: lemon, peach, quince, thyme. On the palate: amazing acidity, transitioning into juicy meyer lemon, salt, wet stone, pink grapefruit. Juicy, dense finish. Wow. Stunning.
