    Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, a sip on the evening and 50cl filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
    Glass: Zalto Universal
    From 0,375l bottle. Clear, medium amber color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Lots of almonds, honey, dried apricots. Dense and quite harmonious.
    Sweet. Medium+ acidity. 13,5% abv. Full bodied. Dried and ripe apricot, candied fruit, botrytis, spices. Creamy texture, well balanced, deep and dense. Long, fine finish with lots of dried fruit. Drinks well now and makes good fun. 92-93+

    Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, a sip on the evening and 50cl filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
    Glass: Zalto Universal
    From 0,375l bottle. Clear, deep amber color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Lots of almonds, honey, botrytis, floral notes. Dense, deep and complex.
    Luscious. Amazing high acidity. 14% abv, perfectly integrated. Full bodied. Beautiful flavors of dried ripe fruit, botrytis, honey, white pepper, candied peel. Very complex and deep with a wonderful balance and harmony. Quite precise. Very long, lingering finish, nutty and with some white pepper. Long life ahead. 93-94

    Glass: Zalto Universal
    From 0,375l bottle. Clear, deep amber color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. More on the orange side of life with some blood orange, candied peel and the usual botrytis. Not overly complex.
    Sweet, medium+ acidity. 14,5% abv. On the palate as well the orange flavors, hone, pepper. Well balanced, creamy texture, quite complex and very long. Potential for at least another decade. 93-94

    Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, a sip on the evening and 50cl filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
    Glass: Zalto Universal
    From 0,375l bottle. Clear, medium amber color. Nose is quite restrained and muted with some cellar mold. Sweet, awesome high acidity. 13% abv. A bit muted, some oxidized notes, a bit of cellar mold. Certainly not a perfect bottle. You can feel the potential, but this bottle was the weakest in this tasting. What a pitty.

    Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, ~4cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
    Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux
    From a perfect bottle. Clear, medium deep golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, fully developed nose. Some nots, floral notes, ripe yellow fruit, honey, Sauternes like flavors, crushed stones, spices. Deep, dense, complex and really beautiful.
    Dry, medium+ acidity, perfectly integrated. Medium+ body. Nuts, almonds, ripe fruit, very mineral, some mellow apple, some vegetal notes. Great tension, concentration and depth. Beautiful texture and balance. Long, lingering finish. Some oxidative notes, nuts, almonds and honex.
    Wonderful experience. This bottle was at full peak and will certainly not improve. 94-95

    Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux
    From a perfect bottle. Clear, deep ruby color with some garnet reflexes. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Bold, opulent with lots of dark fruit, speck, violets, pepper, cassis. Deep and dense.
    Dry, beautiful medium+, racy acidity. 14% abv, well-integrated. Full bodied.
    Lots of red and dark fruit, herbs, smoke, speck, green pepper. Beautiful velvety texture, good balance, warm & ripe, a bit chubby and with broad shoulders. Long, velvet finish with lots of dark fruit. Wonderful pirate with a potential of further development of 5+ years. 93

    From a perfect bottle. Clear, deep garnet color with tawny reflexes. Clean, fully developed and medium intense, classic Bordeaux nose. Pencil shavings, tobacco, red fruit, some oak. Dense, fresh and lovely.
    Dry, medium+ acidity, wonderfully integrated. 13% abv. High, ripe and well-integrated tannin. Red fruit, green pepper, herbs, delicate hints of lovage. Very juicy and fresh, good tension and grip, good balance. Long finish. Really nice Bordeaux at its full peak and a fantastic PQR. Drink now. 92

    Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux
    From a perfect bottle. Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Clean, medium+, classic developing Paulliac nose. Red fruit, spices, tobacco, pencil shavings, meat, some animal notes. Very deep, dense and complex.
    Dry, high, racy acidity. 13%abv. High, mellow tannin. Medium Body. Beautiful red fruit, smoke, spicy (pepper), very mineral, raw met. Velvety texture, great energy, pressure and tension. Wonderful balance and elegance. Juicy and delicious to drink. Potential for another decade. Great PQR and a worthy opponent to the 2000 LMHB. 94-95

  • 2000 Château La Mission Haut-Brion 95 Points

    Note is based on a tasting sip in the morning on day one, ~4cl on the evening and 0,1l filled in a bottle and sealed with argon gas on the evening of day three.
    Glass: Riedel Sommelier Bordeaux
    From a perfect bottle. Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Clean and a bit muted nose. Needs lot of time and air to unfold.
    Dry, high, racy acidity. 13,5% abv. High, wonderful silky tannin. Red fruit, herbs, lots of crushed stones, oak, tobacco.
    Rather cool and lean. Pure elegance. Velvety, silky texture. Very calm, harmonious, round and wonderfully balanced. But also, with great tension, extract and grip. This is a monster in the making, but currently way too young. Extremely fine and long finish with lots of red fruit. Awesome! Would love to taste it in 10+ years. 94-95++

    From a perfect bottle. Clear, deep golden color. Clean, medium+, fully developed nose. Lots of ripe Amalfi citrus notes, icing sugar, lots of crushed stones, smoke and delicate petrol notes. Very dense and beautiful.
    Sweet, balanced by the high, wonderfull integrated acidity. 7,5% abv. Lots of ripe Amalfi citrus, yellow stone fruit, herbs, crushed stones. Juicy, great tension and grip. Wonderful balance and harmony. Very fresh. Long and lingering. Drink now or within the next 5+ years. 93-94
