Disgorged 26 October 2006, presumably from 2000 base. So amazing, perfectly rich and concentrated, full of refreshing acidity, tangy fruit and subtle aged flavors. One of the group's favorites today. 94-95
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
The period when they explored terroir by changing the stems percentage? This BM tastes less Dujac than usual, is decently soft but a bit watery. Good structure, just missing on overall flavors. Apparently in 05 they added a piece of white soil, so the palate here does feel harsher (relatively) than later vintages. Good wine, just wasn't showing much. 93?
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
0659/1462. Opened two hours prior, not enough air! Signature linear Leroy aromatics, vintage acidity beautifully expressed, hue of dark earthy notes. All fireworks up and down. 93+
"Sea Ridge Meadow" designation. Nose is less driven than the Sonoma pinot served blind, but there is much bigger structure here, long mellow finish, slightly less concentration than its Burgundy comparables today. 92-93
Served blind in a pair, hawthorn acidity on the nose quite close to the Ponsot and Leroy on its side. Picked this one to compare with similar styles from Burgundy. Some successfully guessed Sonoma pinot, indeed missing the earthy notes and structures from the best of Burgundy. Delicious to drink again, still. 92-93
110514/182480. Served blind in a pair, this is a lot more earthy. Friend successfully guessed a blend Bourgogne, impressive. Really not bad, hue of aged fruit, dark aromatics, fairly long finish. 92-93

Quite dark in color, seems like a result from late picking. Syrupy in a good way with fresh acidity. 93
