Gathered some friends to compare 2015 1er crus from the chambolle and volnay appellations
blind... good fruit concentration, red fruits... seemed in an awkward stage and quite reductive aromas from the glass, needs a good decant in the short term

blind...still mostly very fruit driven, clean, nice structure. Oak is in the background adding support but not taken control. Very good

blind...my favourite of all 3 flights. Juicy fruit but also nice secondary aromas and some wet forest floor/mushroom. Very long aftertaste

blind... very charming wine. Gentle, feminin, very open for business at this stage

Blind... more floral than fruity. Very typical of this producer.

Blind...my least favorite of all the flights. Quite weird smell emanating from the glass, very vegetal, burly, very un-chambolle

blind... so much oak here that is taking over the whole show... tannic also... needs many many years to digest the wood

For me the best Henri Bonneau bottle I have had. Still lots of fruit with that special signature rustic/animal/barnyard nose that only a few winemakers can control to be a positive addition to a wine and not a fault. The length on this is phenomenal. No heat whatsoever. Probably at its peak/plateau here

blind...another Syrah as as good as the previous ones... the nose on this one was very open, surprised by how open it is given normally this bottling needs more time

blind... very much the typical pinot you hope to land on when you open a grand cru. Red fruit and a long finish

2017 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Blanc 92 Points

2007 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Seemed more advanced than the 2007s I had recently. Started off muted and a little heavy but acidity showed up with some air. Not over the hill but worth drinking soon
