The nose gave the aromas of oxidized apples however on the palate the wine was still very much alive. Hazelnuts, citrus, white flowers and marzipan. Not worth sitting on those anymore. Drink up fast

Horizontal Volnay/Chambolle 1er cru 2015: Seemed more advanced than the 2007s I had recently. Started off muted and a little heavy but acidity showed up with some air. Not over the hill but worth drinking soon

Dégustation Volnay/Chambolle 2015: La couleur foncée laissait craindre le pire, mais il fut plus agréable qu'anticipé. La bouche est très évoluée, très sèche, des notes de noisettes, de miel. Intéressant et agréable, mais pas grand. Il a connu de meilleurs jours. 90 pts

Nez de noisettes, des fruits exotiques au nez comme en bouche sans être oxydé, l'acidité en retrait au départ s'ouvre ensuite pour en faire un bel ensemble fin, élégant, très long.
some hazelnuts and exotic fruit on the nose and palate with our being oxidized, just an older and more mature wine, the backward acidity comes out after a while to make a classy and fine bottle, very long and delicious.
