took the coravin to some puppies who have returned from offsite cold storage to three fridges at home...
I just can't seem to come to terms with this wine...I should probably sell everything I have left. They don't taste great (to me) when they're young or age with any finesse.
Nice to have a look at these two - at this price point there are other producers who I will go to first...
Random selection of 2009's to check on progress. Interesting. Most still need time. That Potensac was pleasing
Both of these were reminders of why I love older Bordeaux. The Poujeaux didn't last much longer after this tasting
loads of fun, as always, pottering around, tasting wine and thoroughly enjoying myself.
2005 Château Lanessan
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
From Coravin. Sweet and savoury spice, a little red currant, plum, cedar, wet earth, leather, with time the fruit gets a little dried out. Sourly juicy on the palate, quite red fruit, a little bitter which, combined with the tight tannins, creates a rather hard impression. A little liquorice and raisin on the finish. Nah on this tasting.

2009 Château Lanessan
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
From Coravin. Polished oak, blackcurrant, brambles, plums, sweet spice, a little clay, a little red currant underpin with time. Acid is a little sharp, the fruit is present, alcohol warmth on little obvious, drying talc textured tannins, medium plus length. Meh.

2010 Château Lanessan
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
From Coravin. Muted black fruit, clay, slight alcohol warmth, with time fruit delineates to show plum and blackcurrant, a little soy and dusty earth. Sharp acid, tight, chewy, chalky tannins, fruit is beneath this and it finishes a little bitter. Meh.

2015 Château Lanessan
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
From Coravin. Cream, polished oak, jubey black fruit, with time a little earth and clay. Medium plus acidity, talc textured tannins, fruit tea flavours, medium plus length. Best of these, for me, but still not very exciting.
