2016 Hatzidakis Winery Assyrtiko Santorini

Clarity, salty, mineral, ripe to overripe citrus, quince, lemon, preserved lemon, stone fruit, palate with high acidity, same flavors, oxidation notes, quince jam, med body, alcohol heat (13.50%?), med finish
* Burgundy bottle *
More subtle, ripe fruit, mineral, lemon, salty, feels a bit leaner, palate is the same, ripe fruit, quince again, a touch harsh, med finish, finely tuned.
We were told that this bottling had a slightly different winemaking, made in old oak

The wine shows medium intensity, subtle beautiful ripe fruit, a touch of caramel, vanilla, pastry, lemon, brioche, palate again ripe, full body, vanilla, lemon, feels linear, maybe even falling apart

Lower intensity, lean, lemon, citrus, fresh, salty, clarity, palate feels better, the fruit is riper, broader, a touch hot (14.50%), lemon curd, long finish

2013 Hatzidakis Winery Assyrtiko Cuvée No.15 Flawed

The wine shows medium intensity, more oxidative, citrus, nutty notes, the fruit is riper, there is also a funky/cardboard note (tca maybe?)
Palate quite oxidative, harsh, glue, very aggressive, citrus, medium body, s/m finish.
I call this corked

The wine shows high intensity, full on oaky, nutty, almond, citrus/pear jam, almond, palate very fresh, nice acidity, 15% alc very well balanced, very salty, mineral, tasty, high intensity, long finish

More evolved than 2016, the fruit shows ripeness, oxidative again, the color is deeper, cinnamon, spicy, nutty, almond, more to the “style of Louros”, the palate is again more evolved, showing ripeness, density, tight, nitty, almond, more preserved fruit notes, high acidity, a touch hot from the 15%, full on developed, long finish
