  • Beautifully aged single-vineyard Assyrtiko, last vintage made by the legendary Haridimos Hatzidakis. This may be one of the best wines ever produced on the island of Santorini. Golden colour. Some lemon peel left but dominant aromas of orange melon, minerals, honey and raisin. Ever so slightly oxidised in a good way. Viscous and long. Just delicious.

  • A year since we had this last in what was possibly at the time the best Assyrtiko around ( Papies 95) but unfortunately a lot of bottle variation here and have witnessed it first hand with the wines made by the Man himself. This time it felt a touch tired and past it’s best and albeit a healthy and well matured wine still a long way from what we were lucky to have tried in the past. Drink sooner than later. 92 at best this time

  • A superb vintage for Louros vintage that unfortunately has a lot of bottle variability.
This bottle was superb and just such a joy. Ironically Andreas who had this blind albeit mesmerized said this was not Assyrtiko ( and he is the biggest advocate for Assyrtiko in the world)
Soft, less of ta sharp mineral Assyrtiko and more of a smooth rounded polished expression. Very earthy on the nose and we did discuss that should this have been totally blind the nose would be a bit bordeaux-esque in earthiness. Soft oak on the back ground, light noble oxidation. The palate is well polished and elegant, a bit not assyrtiko but that is what one gets from 100+ yr old vines like these. A total concentrated taste like no other. Superb here too but frankly its the nose on this bottle that could have launched a 1000 ships to bring it back from Troy. Superb 95+

  • Again, confirming previous tasting note, a wine of high class, this time was unbelievable with loads of santorini sensations and jura overtones. 97 this time

  • 90+ Wine Club, A tribute to Hatzidakis (Aleria restaurant): Very tight, oxidative, dense, ripe fruit, quince, earthy, lemon chutney, spicy, palate shows full body, very ripe fruit, citrus, alcohol heat from 15%, high acidity, again oxidative, long citrus flavored finish
