• 2013 Hubert Lamy Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées Flawed

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

  Blinded. Served together with the 2013 En Remily, this was slightly tainted by TCA. Leaner and more deductive compared to En Remily but could have been due to the TCA as well.

Winner was En Remilly with its freshness and youthfulness. Chateniere came close and was riper and fuller.

  Popped since 6pm and drank at 730pm. Pale lemon, tropical fruits, full body, lovely acid, long finish.

  Blinded. Compared to the 2013 Chateniere which had a riper and rounder style, this was much fresher and tasting younger. Yellow flower, asparagus with mineral long finish.

Sadly the 2nd bottle of Chateniere was tired and likely premox. Leeuwin was a joker and quite impressive.

• 2006 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series 93 Points

  Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River

  Blinded. Probably one of the best art series I have had. Someone actually believe this was a resiling due to the petrol notes, on the palate it was distinctly chardonnay, lemon, lime, high acid, touch of honey. Impressive white.

2 different grapes made by the same producer and vintage. Liked the Ailgote better as the winemaking style seems to help soften the edges of the grape bringing complexity.

Very impressive village plot but I actually like the Bourgogne better due to its precision but lacks the complexity.

  Blinded. First time trying this maker, impressively Bourgogne white. yellow flower, touch of honey, linear finish, lacks body but still very enjoyable. Apparently, it was rather fabby when this was tasted in the barrel but it has integrated well.

Good red to end the night, not a fantastic red but very enjoyable.

  Popped at 4pm and drank at 1030pm. Sour plum, jammy, sour cherry, dense on the palate but 1 dimensional. Med finish with fresh med tannins.
