Introduction
Family vacation to both Barcelona and the Chianti region of Tuscany where we stayed at Hotel La Fontanelle. Wine tasting was a day trip to Montalcino and primarily partaking in Brunello in restaurants.
Flight 1 - Wine Tasting (21 Notes)
in Montalcino we visited Capanna and Podere Le Ripi, we enjoyed the Capanna wines much more but Podere Le Ripi was tasting the lesser 17 and 18 vintages compared to a wider array of 12, 15, 16, and 17 at Capanna. Favorites from the trip were Val Di Suga Vigna Spuntali, Capanna 16, and the Il Poggione Riserva Viagn Paganelli 16.

Leather, anise, and bruised cherry, lots of complexity. An hour in the decanter opened the wine to fresher fruit. Quite an enjoyable wine

Beautiful nose, floral, olive, tart cherry and red fruits. Very silky on the palate, the age coming through in many ways. Not a big wine by any stretch but very elegant.

Beautiful wine, very expressive and very elegant. Lots of red fruit and lighter in body, more classic in style. Wonderful
