Tasted blind - Medium ruby with bricking hue, clear. Notes of dried papaya, plum, tobacco. Medium body, resolved tannins with great acidity and a medium finish. Mature and drinking beautifully. Excellent.

Tasted blind – Medium ruby with a brown hue throughout, clear. At first, the nose was tight but after a few minutes it opened up and notes of bell pepper, dark fruits and leather. On the palate stewed dark fruits, leather and some green notes as well. Plenty of acidity left in this wine. Excellent.

Tasted blind – Medium ruby, clear. The youngest looking red so far. Plum and cherry notes with solid acidity and tannins. Excellent.

Tasted blind – Notes of dark fruits with mint and some earthy/gamey notes. Medium to high acidity with medium tannins and a lengthy finish. I think this will get better yet. Excellent. 90+

Tasted blind - Some enjoyable funk on the nose with sweet oak and dark fruits. This nose reminded me of a Napa cab. At first on its own seemed way too young and overwhelming but with the suckling pig it paired very well. The tannins settled down and the wine showed some similar notes to the nose with sweet dark fruits and more balanced mouth feel. This needs more time but with food can be enjoyed now. Excellent. 90+

Tasted blind – Dark ruby with a purple tinge. Big nose of red cherry, licorice and some boozy notes also. Darker fruits on the palate with sweeter oak notes as well. The potential is there. Need time. Good. 87+

Tasted blind – All I had written down for this wine was dark fruits and this needs time with medium to high acidity and tannin. Very good.

Tasted blind – Again, not much written down for this wine either. I must have been chatting or focused on eating cause this and the previous wine didn’t get the attention they probably deserved. What I had noted was: Huge wine, high acidity and tannin. Needs time. Very good. 88+

Tasted blind – Dark ruby with a purple hue. Somewhat confected notes of ripe black fruits. Balanced acidity and tannin, but I find it a little too boozy at this point. This is drinking surprisingly well for its age, but this will definitely benefit from 5+ years in the cellar. Good. 87+

Tasted blind – Notes of nuts, melted raisins and prunes. Syrup like texture. Tasty but a tad too sweet for me. Good.

Tasted blind – Pale to medium lemon, clear. Nose of butter and beer with the palate giving toasty and yeasty flavours with more butter. After some time the beer notes diminished on the nose this became more about butter and yeast. Medium body, medium to high acidity and a medium length finish. Again, quite interesting but not as enjoyable as the ‘96 Lopez before it. Drink now. Average.
