- Yellow color and aromas of walnut, hazelnut, oak, butterscotch and molasses and has flavours of almond and molasses with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a medium finish.

The fermentation in Amewrican oak is clear in the spun straw colour but the age is not. On the nose this smells like Chardonnay, all buttery with the oak smelling finely grained. There is honeyed peach too. The palate is rich but quite lean with good weight - the oak perhaps drinking the finish a little. Good.
ED: what did "rich but quite lean" mean? Who knows.

Clear yellow. Yeast and malt nose with a bit of lemon. The flavours were all Chardonnay. Of course there was only Portugese grapes in this one. Great acicdity. A nice white wine with an odd nose.

WineFanatic Spain & Portugal Offline (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – Pale to medium lemon, clear. Nose of butter and beer with the palate giving toasty and yeasty flavours with more butter. After some time the beer notes diminished on the nose this became more about butter and yeast. Medium body, medium to high acidity and a medium length finish. Again, quite interesting but not as enjoyable as the ‘96 Lopez before it. Drink now. Average.

Wine Education Service - Portugal's Movers & Shakers (LSE): Attractive, aromatic, mature nose with sweet fruit.
Juicy sweet attack, good acidity, well integrated, slightly bitter mid palate and the oak comes through in the finish.
