The Ledbury, Notting Hill, London

Very youthful appearance with a medium bright ruby core and a narrow pale ruby rim. Youthful bright red chery and plum fruit, still showing a lot of vanilla oak. Medium bodied on the palate, rich with bright red cherry and plum fruit, again plenty of vanilla, softish tannins, indeed very approachable with just a little fine grip on the good length finish. Needs more time to come together but potentially an excellent village Vosne. **(*1/2).

Medium garnet core, wide pale rim. Moderately intensenose , raspberry fruit, some spicy and earthy development. Noticeably leaner on the palate than the 05, raspberries and spice, attractive enough if perhaps a little dilute and with a medium length slightly firm finish. May just be a little closed. **

Pale/medium garnet - quite developed appearance. Nose however is relatively youthful with dark cherry and plum fruit. Only moderately intense. Pleasant enough on the palate if lacking a little punch and intensity. Some attractive slightly earthy dark cherry fruit, a little short and firm on the finish. No 04 pepperiness here for me a decent lunch-time burgundy. **

Pale/medium garnet core, wide very pale mahogany rim. Slightly earthy, lean fruit at first opened out to reveal richer, pure red cherry fruit with some attractive spice and earthy notes and a lovely floral top-note. Showing good depth and length on the palate, lovely pure red fruit and harmonised tannins, finish lifted and lengthened by lovely fresh acidity. Lovely and drinking beautifully. ***1/2

Noticeably darker appearance with deep garnet core, dense coloured with a narrow pale rim. Frankly odd, porty, pruney, very ripe black fruited nose, some spicy development but lacking freshness and complexity. Better than expected on the palate, showing good depth and with rich fruit but welcome fresh acidity and a good length if quite firm finish. Something not quite right here though *1/2.

Medium garnet core, medium/wide pale garnet rim. Nose slightly reticent but attractively perfumed with red fruit and a slighty earthy edge. Reined in and a little tight in the palate but showing good unerlying depth. A little difficult to read and in need of more time. **(*1/2)?

Nose shows fresh red and plum fruit with a hint of vanilla. Lovely bright, fresh fruit, some firm, edgy tannins but attractive and bright if lacking a little depth and richness compared to the 05 village Vosne. **1/2

Open, rich nose with dark cherry and plum fruit, minty notes and a hint of game. Showing impressive depth on the palate with dark, rich, ripe fruit, still noticeable but fine tannin and a lovely long, savoury finish. Excellent. ****

Deep ruby core, medium pale garnet rim. Slightly weird, honeyed peanutty nose, which eventually did blow off to reveal ripe plum and blackcurrant fruit and good depth and length on the palate with an attractive slightly savoury finish. ***1/2

Pale/medium ruby/garnet core, wide pale rim. Slightly impenetrable nose at first but opening out to show lovely pure fruit. A little tight on the palate, but again lovely purity of fruit and notable minerality. Tight finish, but plenty of underlying depth. Becoming more red fruity, rich and round with time. Lovely ****1/2

Golden Yellow. Rich, slightly oxidative nose. Bready, nutty notes. Palate is more fruity, rich, with fine mousse and lovely crisp acidity and good length on the finish. ***
