I signed up and got an 8 bottle allocation right off the bat! But settled for two.....

The only "no box" option was for six.

Schrader, I am passing this year due to sticker shock. I don't like it $225/bottle like, especially when I am getting Ridge Monte Bello for about 1/2 of that price. Easy solution stop Schader and buy more MB.

I am about done with lists. All the ones I am on I have too much of their wine at this point and all the ones I am not don't count as Incoming I guess.

I think we almost run the opposite. Have started asking for not the box. There really isn't much room in a NY apt and our offsite charges by the box so don't want to be paying to store wood in a temperature and humidity controlled room.

Similar price increases pushed me away from several California wineries. Hourglass Blueline was $120 a bottle. I think their first label was $225-ish. I like their product, but not that much.

Wow, it has begun!

First came warning emails or letters from Quilceda Creek, No Girls, and Horsepower.

Then Betz sends out an email announcing their new high-end Cab from a small parcel in the Kiona vineyeard on Red Mountain with a guaranteed allocation until January 7.

Does a plethora of auction options for favorite producers count as an "Incoming!" if I plan on grabbing at least one of the lots? Between Zachy's, WineBid, and a favorite reseller there's two 4 bottle lots, one 3 bottle lot, one 2 bottle lot, and a single bottle lot that I've bookmarked. Low-ish bid placed on the 2 bottle lot, and now I have to figure out a plan of attack for the rest since the ending times are a bit staggered.

No warnings emails for me.

So if someone wants to sell part of their Horsepower or No Girls allocation let me know.

I bought HP 2 years ago but passed last year so I suppose I am shunt.
I will continue to buy NG.

Then I think I am done until the Napa stuff starts in late Jan.

edit--we're drinking a Saxum tonight. Then I'll make a decision about the next offer in January.

My wife happened to come in and see me clicking back & forth among separate tabs on the computer, looking at the above options ending tonight. She leaned in and told me that we need more of one, so that's what I'm concentrating on. Even if I strike out at Zachy's and WineBid, I have a fall back option for the same vintage but from a producer we like just as much.

I might end up doing just that. One of the Zachy's listings is for a wine that I'm under strict spousal orders to load up on. We were picking out what we wanted to drink over the holidays and she noticed there were empty slots in the Burgundy Danby that usually hold this wine. It's rare that running low on any red wine upsets my wife, but this time she took a keen interest in the inventory for this producer / vintage and said "buy more Village level". I couldn't get "Sure honey!" out of my mouth fast enough. Beeline to the computer and WineSearcher.

You're okay in my book, regardless of what the other members say about you.

Luckily, the wife was happy with the 1ere Cru stock level.

So what's the ruling on this?: I just got my "save the date" email from Myriad for their 2017 releases. If I'm surely going to buy from 2 of the 3 releases, can I count that as an incoming? How about half of an incoming?

Outpost (17th)

Saw that this morning. Not sure if I'm going for any True Vineyard or not. I like it in "off" years and 2014 might not be "off" enough for me like 2011 was.

I passed on the MB Steep Terraces.

Did order some Quilceda Creek today. This is probably the last vintage of QC for me.

Trying to keep my powder dry for Berserker Day.

Will it be the same $180 as last year or will it go up (like it did from $150 for the 2012 to the current $180 for the 2013)?

Got my save the date (Jan 17th) for Once and Future as well. A mataro, 2 zins, and a petite sirah. I'm probably going to pass as I have enough zin to last me 15 years at my zin consumption rate, am not into PS, and know nothing of mataro.

I received the Once & Future email also, and I only ordered the zin on the first release. I am sure your email will come soon Scott.

Myriad Syrah is released on 1/24.
