I rented 100 stems--don't know how good they'll be though (Ordered on phone).
The cost is about 96 bucks. Mason will pick them up on Thu (no delivery option).

Let me know about Sat bonus bottles.

I'm not planning a Remoulade or cocktail sauce for shrimp and oysters, just a squeeze of lemon. I don't want to kill the Champagnes.

Dude, French cheese has gotten pricey.

This afternoon I'm trying to find decent baguettes.

~6 cases arriving from Envoyer on Fri--anyone wanna help?

Cross posted--I bought 2 one-oz pourers for Thu night since most of the wines are 1x. Can we make do with those (switching them out) or do I need a couple more?

Sounds great.
Thanks for getting the stems.

Let us know what we can do to help, fiscally or physically. (Even if we have to help you drink those 6 cases of wine)

Should be another great and memorable event.

Don't forget to call Circa and pre-pay.

Shrimp and oyster portion size on Fri

Since it is more like an appetizer, with heavy food to follow, what do you think about ~3 lbs of shrimp and 3 containers of oysters?
I don’t have time to shuck oysters for 20 people.

That’s probably 5 oz of fried food pp. What say ye?
BtR can stand the thought of beginning the event without bubbles so it looks like there will be more Dom...

Cold front Friday--could be a bit rainy Fri eve.
Sat will be quite chilly/Sat night cold (for Chas in early Nov). Right now they're calling for lows near 40.

Current thinking among the weather guessers is that the rain will mostly be overnight on Thu. Fri should be chilly and Sat only has a high in the 50s.
And it’s a damp cold.
Bring a jacket.

I've seen two shrimp boats come by so far today. Good sign that the cold front brought the shrimp in. Brittany and I are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Circa’s been paid,
the wine is all packed.
The flight was delayed,
but hey, we’re here.

76 degrees today--upper 50s tomorrow

Sunday details updated in post #2.

Most of tonight's prep complete (menu will be slightly altered because of the suckiness of several ingredients/stores).

I have kept an accurate running total of costs (with receipts for you CPA types). I think the only remaining purchases will be shrimp, oysters, and Romaine.

Saveurs du Monde Cafe, in Mt P, will bake off our baguettes this afternoon; HRH and I will pick them up after school. The baguettes are quite good, but def not Parisian.

I should be at the clubhouse by 5:00; Mason will bring the stems.

Follw the directions from upthread and text if you have problems. btw, ENJOY afternoon traffic across the harbor.

Happy Burgundy Thursday
Any night where DRC Richebourg is perceived by most folks as the 3rd best red of the night, Roulot is the 3rd best white, and there are two bottles of Yquem is a crazy night.
I had (reds)
1. Roumier
2. Fourrier
3. DRC

(whites)
1. Dauvissat
2. Leflaive
3. Roulot

Many folks agreed
