Great album. Front man from The Church on a side project.

A compilation of Chess Records recordings from 40s, 50s, 60s.

Chuck Berry, Etta James, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Little Walter

From our library. Nice variety.

I've been in a Grateful Dead mood for a couple of days, been burning through my Dead CDs. Woke up with Jack Straw on my mind, started singing it as I sat up in bed this morning.

This was just perfect while going on my morning walk through our neighborhood park. Two miles of piano bliss.

For those who say "Ryuichi who?", you know him for his Academy Award winning scores for The Last Emperor, The Sheltering Sky & Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.

All represented here, on solo piano.

Has one of the most amazing versions of Chick Corea's "Spain".

Larry Coryell passed away yesterday at 73. The night before, he'd played two shows at The Iridium in New York.

I first saw Larry in 1975, playing with his band The Eleventh House. Saw him again in 1983 when I was in Houston.

Another great talent, gone too soon.

I have that one as well, lockestep. Well done.

Are you familiar will Bill Nelson's more recent output? Quite formidable.

I'm in a Ray Price mood tonight. I just listened to "My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You" and "Heartaches by the Number".

Maybe Kitty Wells or Loretta Lynn next.

I Will Go

I will go, I will go, when the fighting is over
To the land o' McLeod that I left to be a soldier,
I will go, I will go.

When the King's son came along, he called us a' together,
Saying, "Brave Highland men, will ye fight for my father?"
I will go, I will go

I've a buckle on my belt, a sword in my scabbard,
A red coat on my back and a shilling in my pocket,
I will go, I will go.

When they put us all on board the lasses were singing
But the tears came to their eyes when the bells started ringing
I will go, I will go.

When we landed on the shore and saw the foreign heather,
We knew that some would fall and would stay there forever,
I will go, I will go.

(sing slowly: ad lib)
When we came back to the glen, the winter was turning,
Our goods lay in the snow and our houses were burning.
I will go, I will go.
(chorus)

Yes, although I have only sampled a small amount relative to his output. Of course with a new album every couple of months it will always be so.

Check out Bill's Bandcamp page, where you can pick up four collections of his post-2000 music. A great overview.

Absolutely superb album by the then-22-year-old Tony Rice, showing musical maturity and skill well beyond his years. Highly recommended.

Released 20 years ago. Hard to believe it was that long. We first heard this upon wondering into a bookstore in Key West.

Saw them at The Triple Door - looked them up on Wikipedia and saw they were in town the next night! So I had to enjoy with strangers (HRH not a fan of loud music). Great show! Now this album is on repeat.....
