Wow! Great photos and wonderfully unpretentious descriptions of the wines. What a treat it must be to attend these evenings!!

Nothing about this thread strikes me as unpretentious.

That's been my thought from the start...

I think that it is possible to drink the best wines of Burgundy and the best wines of Bordeaux and do so in both pretentious and unpretentious ways. What is (for me at least) the differentiating factor is whether it is being done brag about having uber-expensive, recherché wines or to simply share your joy in a delicious vinous experience. I am only picking up the latter from Nonpakkit's descriptions, just an honest sensory appraisal of how he enjoys those wines. The joy comes through, I think because of the great simplicity in his descriptions.

I agree. I wish I had the same opportunity. He provides, what I feel, are great tips for how we can all enjoy the wines that he is enjoying. I think his general approach is find some wine loving friends and get everyone to contribute towards the dream bottles.

If anything, I feel that "pretentious" has a negative connotation, which - again, in my opinion - this thread does not deserve. I do not at all mean to make a big deal of it

9.11.2013 : Our 4th Anniversary, a simply dinner with the unforgettable wine.

1998 Hermitage : JL Chave...it starts with a good scent of chalk combined with a wonderful sweetness, complex nose, beautiful texture, charming aftertaste. I can feel a little bit too young but all elements are very opened at this moment.

After 2 hours, it becomes a irresistible wine, powerful, amazing sensational finished.

This reminds me of drinking Jayer's wine, another " great great wine " indeed. 98-99/100

(I, myself, prefer this normal Hermitage than the 1998 Hermitage Cuvee Cathelin.)

2006 Chablis Les Clos : Vincent Dauvissat...a half bottle that's very good to drink now. Better than my last time drinking in 2012. Almost the same feeling of Raveneau even this is better to drink young. Terroir is clean and dramatic, good structure and very nice finished. Glad I still have few more bottles left. 93/100

I loved living in Thailand - probably the best food I have ever had - wonderful chaos of Bangkok - amazing people. I think Bangkok is an amazing city and I had a brilliant time living in the islands in the south as well. Of course, on the beach it was Singha beer rather than Montrachet!

Happy anniversary! I love seeing your pictures, thank you. They are all wines I'd like to try "someday." You finally posted a pic of a wine I have had, the Sandrone.

8.11.2013 From Lunch to Dinner @ the house of the Great Artist : Chatchai Puipia

2011 White Swiss : Grand Cru 91+/100

2012 Riesling Mineral : Emrich-Schonleber 91/100

2009 Vosne-Romanee : Leroy 93/100

2010 Nuits 1er Cru : Prieure Roch 91-92/100

1996 Clos de Beze : Prieure Roch 94/100

...เปิดไวน์เพิ่ม...

2005 Chinon Blanc : องุ่น Chenin Blanc...still very young. 91-92/100 (ควรเก็บให้ไวน์มีอย่างน้อยอายุ 30 ปีแล้วค่อยเปิดดื่ม)

2009 PSI : 3rd from Pingus...sexy and very delicious. 92-93/100

2003 Beaucastel : CdP well-made...classic...92-93+/100

2008 Clos Vougeot : Thibault Liger-Belair 91-92/100

2007 Pignan : CdP (เค้าว่ากันว่าเป็นฉลากสองของ Rayas)

Same feeling like drinking 2009 Clos du Chateau ของ Comte Liger-Belair....very complex wine indeed !!! 97/100

" Good view for this evening "

" One minute drawing, 2 minutes after midnight "

9.12.2013 : December, Month of Joyful

Table Wine : Petrus 3 Litre

This is a very delicious 91/100 wine. Hints some cedar/wood at the beginning and getting more sweet with time. firm structure than a normal bottle. Super delicious Petrus.

Drink it like a table wine.

Soft landing aftertaste, very nice finished.

Drink now - 2040+

ps. Looking forward to try 6.0L soon

Noppakit, nice pictures once again.

I was surprised you gave that Petrus a 91, but you have certainly had enough great wines to compare it to.

Thank you.

IMO, 1997 Petrus is nice and the 3L bottle is just a little bit better than normal bottle. Actually I rated it 91-93/100. The aftertaste depends on character of the vintage and gives its own score too.

1997 Petrus can't get a higher rate as same as other great wines from 1st Growth same vintage.
