Great question dawn. We have 2 half rows and 2 full rows. I can actually point them out on Google maps. Let me see if I can put a screenshot of it up...Our rows are 17-20. We have had the same rows for every vintage of Rutherford. There isn't pictures of the other rows because not every row is labeled.

Update: Here is a link to a PDF that I created. the first shot will give you an idea where I am all Silverado and Ponti roads. that whole block is B1B. The zoom in shows you a clearing in the center of B1B and I put in 4 arrows. I have the last two short rows to the west (17&18) and the first two full rows past that (19-20) We pull a barrel out of the 2.5 tons that come out of here for CT.

Hope this helps you pinpoint this on google maps.

dave

Thanks Dave - so cool!

Dan,

I just sent you a PM with some information Our CTBP project has changed slightly in 2014 where we no longer do "share" and just do 12 bottle cases. I do have un allocated cases of the 2014 Rutherford Cabernet (from Beckstoffers GIII) vineyard. Details are above and in First post.

the price per case is 438 and current amount due is 3/4's of that. If you or anyone else is interested in the 2014 project, please feel free to contact me on this thread or PM me or dave @ playwrightwines.com

cheers,
-dave

and the usual wine from this vineyard what sort of price does it go for ?
The wine will be bottled when ?
I have a storage account in San Diego , how much to ship to there ? ( Also only in fall I guess )

a full share is 1 case of 12 bottles @ $438/case you can purchase multiple cases. 3/4's of the payment is due now with the final payment due in Feb 2015.

Wines made from our block and labeled with '"Beckstoffer, Georges III" have to be retail priced above 95$ USD per bottle based on the contract with Beckstoffers (grower/Vyrd Manager)
as such, our wines are labeled as Rutherford.

The wine are scheduled to be bottled in Dec of 2016 (~28 months in barrel) for Delivery in Spring of 2017.
current shipping prices to San Diego are ~30$ per case but that is irrelevant for this project as shipping will increase by 2017.

We are currently scheduling the bottling of the 2012 CTBP project. the 2012's will be delivered in spring of 2015.

Bump. I'm assuming this wine has been bottled? Maybe? Released in the spring of 2017?

Any updates appreciated! Looking forward to this wine!

From Smig's post 96.

Mark - sure you have the 2014's from California and not the 2014's from Washington?

Do not fret, Mark, as I, too, have been many times confused on what CT wines are ready and shipping when from where?!

I never even logged them all in as pending so when they do ship it is kind of like a surprise present

I put mine in pending and then somehow accepted delivery. Then figured out I had not received them and had to put them back in pending. Fortunately CT allows enables such idiocy! Looking forward to having them!

Here is the latest update on the 14's. They are still in barrel and will be bottled in January. We performed our trials and everything is ready to go. I have a week of rest from my day job between Xmas and NYE so I will get everyone who is in on the 14's up to date with individual communications. Most of you are paid in full, but I still need to collect a few partial payments from some of you. I am working with Wadcorp to make the final changes on the back labels, we have the glass and foils at the winery. IF anyone is in Napa in January, we may just try and recruit you for the bottling.

Cheers and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

Thanks smig!

I have a Sacramento business trip possible for mid January, so may try a swing a half day to go west for a bit. I'll reach out for a possible meet up if that happens. I'd be happy to help with bottling too if timing works. I even have a bit of experience.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Wine has been bottled and is now resting safely as the winery. I am transfering it to case storage this week. (Thurs) so if anyone is interested in getting their share this spring, please reach out to me at dave@playwrightwines.

This is the final vintage of the CT wines that I produced and it was a single vineyard Rutherford GIII. I am really proud of this wine and I hope that I was able to let everyone that chose to take this journey with me really enjoys this wine.

I will be reaching out to everyone via the email that I have on file, but if you dont hear from me soon, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

For those across the pond, (colonel, kwaky & Periko) I will be moving your 2014 wines as well as the 2012's & 2013's into your storage. We should begin the conversation about how to best get wine into Europe.

Thank you for all of your effort Smig! While I know it was a labor of love, it involved a lot of time and effort and no doubt pain at times. I am confident I speak for everyone in thanking you for all you have done (and will continue to do in getting the wine to us). I look forward to toasting you with the wine!

Salud!

If anyone is a newcomer to the Smig CT projects and wants another vintage, I have a full share of 2013 and didn't participate in 2014 so I'll happily trade some. PM if interested.

I just picked up Team NoVA's share today. OMG. It is burning a hole in my pocket. I want to pop one open today since the fog is lifting and the sky is beautiful right now.

And it would be one less bottle to take back to DC next month for the rest of our motley crew.

I would say that one bottle (at least!) would be an appropriate commission for being our wine mule. :)

I would highly suggest you fight the urge as the wine was only put into the bottle less than 3 weeks ago. It needs a good 2-3 months to relax in the bottle BTW, I got a report from a very reliable source that the 2010 CT Napa Valley is showing very well right now.
