Good (early) Friday morning. 4:23am in Loachapoka but I need to be on the road in 1-1/2 hours so a bit of quiet time with some Guatemala and fresh pumpkin bread. Looks like a day of driving in the rain.

Hope y’all have a careful day in your own travels.

Yes, this AM was some fine Guatemalan coffee here as well.

Cold weather has returned to Chicago, only there isn't any snow to be found. Two years in a row with little to no snowfall is very very odd.

Everyone stay healthy. This influenza outbreak has the hospital full to the brim as they say.

Good morning from Asheville. 21f with WCF at 12F. That’s cold!!! Anyway, house purchased and celebrations concluded. This morning careful measurements and photography; this afternoon play time and tomorrow headed back to Loachapoka.

16F here, with about an inch of snow atop a thin layer of ice. We have a "bot luck" to attend tonight; Syrah is the theme. I hope the roads are sufficiently treated for us to be able to drive over to Lexington to attend.

Interesting, Eddie, as we will be continuing to enjoy a Lafond Syrah Sta. Rita Hills tonight. So far, intense, concentrated but not overdone. A good winter wine.

Hello to all. Sort of following playoffs today, but Sun games are of greater interest. Since Packers are long out of contention, now supporting Saints as Drew Brees is a Purdue grad. Also a long-time Steelers follower as they do have quite the legacy. Anyone but the Patriots .....

Off for a light swim before settling in for the evening. Hope all have a great playoff weekend.

Cheers!

This ain't SoCal, but 61F and sunny, calm out watching the GD play soccer. They played the best team in their 2002g
div. and got beaten, but Brooke layed off a good assist for a goal.

The temperature has been dropping all day here just outside Philly.

My wife and I are both working in Plymouth Meeting, and do NOT want to deal with the post-Eagle's game traffic to get to Joizey. We'll probably meet at the local Mexican joint and wait it out.

Good weather for CdR. Finishing the last of pheasant with winter squash and cranberries. Counting the days until March....spring isn't out of reach, but just at the end of my fingertips.

Met with friends at a brick oven pizza restaurant tonight.
The Villa Antinori Toscana IGT looked better to me than the craft beer selection, even at $11 a glass.
Too bad they served it too warm. I used my water glass to help cool the stemless wine glass.

Good afternoon to all. Sorta following the first playoff game -- now close, but interesting. Have decided that anyone but Patriots is most important, followed by support of the Saints. An excuse to open some nice wine for the Super Bowl in a few weeks.

Having a very brief warmer-than-usual spell here. Current outside time is 77 degrees. A few windows open for a hour or two is a nice change.

Lazy Sunday planned. Wine geeking, bits of football, etc. Maybe some of the remaining Syrah if in the mood. After 2 gym days and 4 swim days, lazy sounds wonderful.

Cheers!

Mid 50's here in Orlando. Unfortunately I'm leaving for OKC for a week tomorrow, and stepping off my flight into the low 30's. Brrr....

Just watched and paid attention to the last 2 minutes of Vikings v Saints. Before that, it was casual observing.

Nice Vikings QB throw, Diggs did a clean run w/no doubt, they won. They deserved it. So we have Jaguars, Eagles, Patriots, and Vikings. Not at all sure who to support. Patriots, no. No affinity for Philadelphia. Vikings...uh, Packer Backer here. So Jaguars by process of elimination? Must consider.

Not a big deal. Super Bowl may end up focused on commercials.

Whatever....

Hope all have a good evening.

Up early sipping my coffee (Tanzania) and getting ready to shovel the new snow before another day in the trenches.

Snow on Monday morning is like a 15 yard penalty.

We did a trail 1/2 marathon yesterday, starting temp was around 15 and finishing temp was 20. Add in a few creek crossings and the cold I had coming on, I am now staying home sick.

Monday, Monday back in Loachapoka. Finally up and sipping my Guatemala while I contemplate just what I’ve done!

Anyway, today is Dr. M’s birthday and because its all MLK Day, she has a holiday. We pick up the doxies around 1-ish so I suspect that this morning will be a continuation of identifying stuff that is going to be jettisoned over the next few months. in short, the Great Purge is about to commence. Advice to myself - keep my head down.

Oh yes, and its still cold outside.

Snow? What is snow? ...and Paul didn't learn growing up to stay out of the cold. Get well, soon, Paul - 13.1 mile trail run is pretty impressive in my book, though!

30 degrees here in North Texas, although my Brazilian french press coffee is currently keeping me warm as I grab some local news on the telly.

Happy B-day shout out to Dr. M! ...and we can use a purge here too, Tom, even though we are not currently moving. (It's always good to keep things at a minimum in case we need to get out of Dodge quickly! )

I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go!

Don't forget but tomorrow starting at 9:00 AM is the Outpost Wines release. Hopefully you got allocated some True Vineyard. If not the Estate Howell Mountain is almost as good and way less money. For this reason I'm passing on True. QPR Baby

Probably passing.
I've got Offlineorama wines to source.
