Like Jon Snow after being stabbed in the heart, the Hallowed Annual CellarTracker Tradition of Last Puppy Night (spoiler alert) rises anew!

Per the description from Khamen in the original event, the following are the rules:

quote:

Simple rule - on Friday 10th of June, you have to pop a bottle that you only have ONE of in the cellar - whether it's a singleton purchase or a bin end. Whether it's a special bottle or the last of a daily drinker pile is down to you.

Post on this thread what it was and how it was.

Together we can drink our way to a tidier cellar!

Who is in?

K

We've been fairly liberal in allowing the consumption of the Last Puppy to occur anytime during the weekend.

Who's with me?

Here are the prior threads:

2014 Edition (yes, we missed 2014, because, well... the link sums it up)

We'll be in the land of drycabs.
What could possibly go wrong?

I would be in the hands of S1, but he's run off to be in the hands of drycab. (I'm in Chas-town that day.)

I have more last puppies than the local animal shelter.
And I have one last puppy from the animal shelter!
I'll spare him, and try to dispose of a couple of the bottle-version last puppies.

Secret Santa package sent!

...sorry, wrong event.

I am away working all that week so likely can't do Friday. Saturday's an option though. I'm sure I have some pups that would be good candidate for this.

So long as you finish the last puppy before actually acquiring more, I think you're in the clear.

Same here. A large proportion of my collection is "last puppies" - it would take strategizing on my part to not participate at some point over the weekend...why go to the trouble?

Same here. I could easily participate in Last Puppy Month so June 10 will be just another day for me

I have a lot of singletons ready to go, the big question is which one? I am leaning toward a 1983 Gloria at the moment but my fickle mind will probably change a couple of times before I actually pop a cork.

If you drink the first five earlier in the night, the sixth one becomes a last puppy....

I'm game. Let me go check downstairs for a good candidate. BRB........

.......................

...........Okay, found a few more than I realized I had. Gotta choose between:

2002 JJ Prum Graacher Himmelreich Spatlese
1997 Lokoya Diamond Mountain
1996 Jadot Charmes-Chambertin
1995 Ch. Clinet
1995 Ch. Grand Puy Lacoste
1996 JC Pichot Les Larmes de Bacchus
1994 Arrowood Reserve Merlot
2009 Black Cat

Anybody in the Philly / SJ area that wants to make it an off-line? I'll probably be working until 9, but most likely won't go in until noon the following Saturday. I'd love a good reason to do a '95 Right Bank / Left Bank comparison with the Clinet and GPL.

Bringing a chicken up to room temp for roasting tonight, weather will determine if oven of indirect heat on the grill (preferred) still leaning heavily toward the 83 Gloria.

2010 Habit Red Wine
Had been holding this last puppy for quite a few years, and the patience was rewarded, as this opened up beautifully, starting to take on secondary nuances and overall seemed to come together brilliantly.

In!

Am a marshal at Hole #8 for the KPMG Championship at Sahalee (LPGA) that weekend - likely will be thirsty that Friday night.

So many puppies, so little time....

Bump.

I'm going with a 2007 McPrice Myers Grenache L'Ange Rouge. This is the last of 16 bottles I purchased at $12 each during the PA state monopoly store's on-line sale in August 2012. While Tom might disagree, I believe this is the best wine deal I've found to date. Every bottle has been outstanding. The last one will hold a special place in my memory.
