I'm a BIG fan of Gigondas and Vacqueras. I have neither in my cellar so need to put some in there at some point. No CdP either. There is some back filling to do. The spots in my cellar for these have been taken by Washington Syrah.

Gee a cooler full of Flannery Beef also arrived at my house. Got my usual aged NY strips and some Wagyu Pave cut, which I never had before. Already cooked up 2 of the strips last night. Supposed to be accompanied by a 2007 Cayuse Cailloux which was sadly corked.

Washington Syrah is growing on me. K Vintners I like so far. Force Majeure I liked the style but the one I tried wasn't extracted enough for me. Jury is still out and there are many more to try before I decide whether I'll keep buying them or not.

I'll check WTSO out. The price is right at $20 a bottle. Who knows...maybe I'll like it better than Washington Syrah.

7 x 2012 JJ Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett showed up in Florida. That means 5 or 6 will be left by the time we get there. Ma & Pa like an occasional bottle of Prüm too.

More e-mail offers, Feb also seems to be a release month.

Will promptly ignore most of them. But temptation does exist...

Gotta coordinate during second half of month.

Quivet Syrah release is 2/13 but it's their 2016 Vintage. I'm more inclined to pass on the newer vintages in favor of back filling older vintages which are ready to drink earlier.

Magnificent! They really are quite special and I fully get why everyone loves them.
Perhaps I will still prefer a big bowl for Burgs, but I think this is the best universal stem I’ve ever seen or tried.

The coronation was with with a lovely $20-something Pouilly-Fume, which was definitely enhanced by the vessel.
