2011 Produttori Barbaresco Normale

To pair with grilled chicken, marinated in tamarind, cumin, and paprika, and served with a chickpea-coconut curry sauce. I'm salivating already.

We ended up opening 2015 Peter Michael Le Moulin Rouge. Somewhat disappointing. High on acidity with a nose of some sweet cherry and raspberry but didn't really open up much more than that even with an hour in the glass. Long finish.

Opened a 2008 L’Ecole #41 Cabernet Sauvignon. Exceptional.

Opened a 2015 Venge Vineyards Scout's Honor Proprietary Red. A blend of 70% Zinfandel, 14% Charbono, 9% Petite Sirah, and 7% Syrah. Very ripe, big red and blue fruits with hints of chocolate and cedar. Well-integrated tannins. A little bit of alcohol prominent on the finish. Not bad.

We still have a 2007 that we really need to drink.

Tonight we opened a 2014 Marie-Thérèse Chappaz Fendant Côteaux de Plamont Fully for a starter. It is good but I think it needs to be served a bit colder than cellar temp. For desert we opened a 2012 Myriad Cabernet, very tasty but a little big.

Started with 2014 Liquid Farm Four Chardonnay.
Now on to a 2012 Sojourn Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville while watching the SU-Duke game. Go Orange!

Ooof! We're still on our 2009. How much decant time did that need?

Sounds about right, I emailed Merrill and inquired about decant time, and she said 2-3 hours. I personally would do 3.

Another pour of 2007 Ambroise Corton le Rognet. I'll have a small glass or two of that each night while evaluating how long I think my remaining 5 bottles will last.... which might not be too long given how ready it seems to be.

Yet another glass of '07 Ambroise Corton le Rognet with another chuck of black truffle cheddar. Yummy!

I'm leaning toward a cheap Haut-Medoc, 2010 Les Parcelles de Stephane Derenoncourt.
If not, I may move slightly upscale to a 2014 Chateau Capbern or 2012 Le Petit Haut Lafitte.

Might crack open a 2015 Rivers-Marie Sonoma Coast PN tonight after having finished my 24 hour moonlighting shift this morning. Too hot outside for anything else right now and I don't have any rose or whites worth opening at the moment.

Working on a bottle of 1993 Shafer Napa Valley / Stag's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. Killer!

***Nobody else reading this is allowed to buy any of this from '93 or '95. It's mine. All mine! I call ForeverDibs on any bottle that shows up for sale. Leave it alone, you scalawags! In fact, I command you to message me the link to any that pops up.
