8/6/2020 - Green Pea Likes this wine: 89 pointsThe QPR is there with this one. At 15 this is a perfect Tuesday / Thursday home dinner wine. Moderate to moderate low in both acid and tannins this works well several styles of food pairings. Traditional notes. |

4/12/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 90 pointsA great QPR. reminds me alot of the 2007 root 1 from Chile. The nose is smokey with earth tones followed by tons of cranberries. The tannins are there but nothing is out of ballance. All in all this is nice and a very good value. The perfect everyday drinker. Should cellar well for another five years. I'm stocking up. |

4/1/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 91 pointsThis is a very nice vino. I must be crazy, but on the nose to me has the same smell that water has after you have boiled corn in the cob in it. Very, very vegetal. The fruit shows through nice as well. Over all I think this id drinking very well. Definitely will hold up in the cellar. I bought six but wish I had bought a case or two. Hopefully I'm able to leave half for tomorrow to see what happens. No promises. |

3/21/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 92 pointsWow what a spectacular bottle of wine. This had dark fruit that was ripe and sweet. The first thing to hit my nose was a warm spicy raisin profile fused in dark fruit. I aloud it to rest in the decanter for roughly three hours and then enjoyed the first half solo. I was surprised it drank on it's own as well as it did. The mouth feel was full and velvety. What impressed me more than anything was the ballance. I expected a little heat but there was none. I still can't get over the nose. I am truly disappointed I didn't buy more. Spectacular. |

3/6/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 91 pointsI am very surprised to not see higher marks on this one. I feel this is a solid wine and Antonio Galloni nailed it with his review. I’m going to pick up more of this and see if I still have the same opinion. It may be just a bit heavy on the oak but the sour cherries were amazing. I’m going to hold off on a detailed review until round two takes place. For now, this is a solid 91 point wine in my book. Especially considering the cost of this bottle. |

3/6/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 90 pointsThis was a very enjoyable wine. My entensions were to enjoy over a two night period and note the changes. Night two never happened because I couldn't stop pouring just a little more. The nose had a cherry oak profile that was pleasant and fresh. The palate was sour cherries with hints of strawberry. The acid ballanced well with the tannins. I will absolutely buy this again. |

2/20/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 87 pointsVery much an everyday pizza wine or weekday wine that should be OK to most. More of a new world profile than old world which I expected. The nose is typical bright red candy. The palate is sour cherry and nice. Nothing over the top but not bad either. Just decent. I will save a glass for tomorrow to see how it changes if at all. |

2/12/2011 - Green Pea wrote: 90 pointsI will truly miss this 07. I have drank the last of 16 bottles and I still to this date have never had a 10 dollar bottle that I enjoyed as I did with this one. The 08 was a huge disappointment for me because it lacked everything that I loved about the 07. Fortunately the 09 has been released and I have one on the way to try. My fingers are crossed. This was a very earthy wine. It had the nose of wet dirt blended with mushrooms and vanilla buried in an espresso chocolate. The fruit is dark and musky. On the palate cherries and tobacco and a little pepper mix well in a velvet finish. I did get a little bottle variation that sometimes was smoky but nothing major. Again the reason all this excites me is because I paid a mere 10 dollars per bottle. I can only hope the 09 will fair the same. |

6/29/2010 - Green Pea wrote: 88 pointsOn its own the nose may be a little off putting to some. Diesel fuel and rubber stand out the most. I had this with a nice dinner but . . . try this with a lemon cake with lemon icing and you have the perfect match. Slightly chilled, this wine was amazing with the cake for desert. |

4/28/2010 - Green Pea wrote: 80 pointsI'll pass. On the nose it has a wet soil or damp cave smell which I'm ok with but, It also has a candied chemical smell that I don't care for. On the palate I realy didn't pick up nice fruit. It was more of a disjointed twang. |

1/4/2010 - Green Pea wrote: 89 pointsThis is a wonderful wine that is a must try. The color is a beautiful violet purple. The pallet is young and fresh with plenty of dark berries but not heavy. It has a woodsy feel to it with tons of depth. I absolutely will buy this again. A very good buy at this price point. |
