Four hour decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry, black cherry, black currant, granite, rose petals, dark chocolate and subtle kettle corn on the sultry, brooding nose. Velvety, tongue drying palate, that included some red apple notes. Voluptuous tannins on the pretty long finish.

Could have easily handled an 8-12 hour decant. This is certainly what you’d call a masculine wine, but not in a toxic masculinity sort of way. ;)

Delicious. Deep purple in color with thin legs. Oak and spice on the nose. Cherry and spice on the palate.

No score, but this was drinking very well last night. No change in score since my last 93 back in February.

Deep concentrated ruby color. Perfectly clear. 5

Nose is pure Napa on day 2. Blackberries, cassis, anise, tobacco leaf, damp granite. NICE! Reasonably concentrated and open. 13

Clean and sound. Palate confirming nose. Bone dry with mouth coating tannins even on day 2. 17

Finish is long and delicious. Very satisfying. 8

No extensive notes. Not monolithic but certainly big. 1-2 hour decant if drinking today.

This is a bit of an oak monster. If that is your thing, you’ll love it. If not, I’d probably avoid. But overall, a good wine and well made, but for the same price there are better wines out there, in my opinion.

Very deep dark silky Cabernet. Stood up well to a streak. Big bold dark fruit flavor and long finish. Will continue to age well.

According to the Chart this wine peaked in 2016. If so I wish i opened it then, because it was pretty spectacular now in 2021. It has the brickish orange color of an oxigenated vintage wine, but it has that unique quality of an exceptional wine that makes you want to take another sip as soon as you finished the last. A smooth long finish completes this great wine.

The wine had some solid structure and color was a dark burgundy, but think it could use another year or two

Particularly outstanding on the nose with deep and layered fruit notes. Black cherry and classic Napa currant notes. Structured and undoubtedly fine.

Color: Deep Purple
Nose: Smells like a $100+ Bottle with Solid Earthiness
Taste: Drinks a Bit Lighter and Fruity with a 'Brick-Like' Finish; Very Smooth and to the Point; Not as Layered as Others at this Price Point
Comp's: Great one to Try if you like Corley or St. Helena Fruit like Duckhorn; Try it with Cheeses and Dark/Bitter Chocolate

Tasted at '17 St. Helena Appellation (SF) Holiday Wine Experience - very solid and nicely structured, interesting euch and cassis on finish. Still room to develop further, certainly well-priced for this level Napa cab. Will not disappoint.

PNV week, tasting at Hourglass caves. I remember liking this last year when we tasted with the vintner (though, no notes).

Nose of dark cherries and spice. Palate showing dark and red fruits, plums and earth/dust. Full bodied, medium finish. Tannins suggest another 3+ years to mellow. Good stuff and reasonably priced vs. other cabs of comparable quality

375ml bottle - Disjointed and disappointing; seems out of balance and hot. Drank over 2 hours with food and by itself, didn't get any better. Smell was muted, not much fruit or oak. Taste of pepper and some smoke; fruit was in the background, with sour cherry dominating. Not worthy of a reserve designation.

A wine as robust as the bottle it comes in. Blackberry jam in the bouquet and cassis, blackberry and ripe black cherries on the palate. Finishes with more black fruit compote, tar and chimney smoke. The tannins are still a touch forward; but they are fine. Quite noteworthy now, but likely better in 4-5 years. Drink 2024 to 2030. Worth Seeking Out.
