Enjoyed this at the Boardwalk at Disneyworld. Nice grippy red berry fruit that paired nicely with my pasta dish.

(updated)
First, i like this wine. Maybe a lot. But it takes more patience than it first indicates. This wine, 2 hours after opening and decanting will almost not resemble the (still nice) light, fruity wine that comes out upon opening. In my experience this is a recurring theme, but this one is dramatic.

The color is dark, yet translucent. Quite clear and pure. Legs are "decent" and there is also sheeting on the glass after a swirl.

Nose shows moderate alcohol, consistent with its stated 14%. There are red and some dark fruit, almost a slightly medicinal / herbal nose. Or maybe earth or forest scents?.

Body is surprisingly full (compared to its appearance) and more serious. This is a dramatic difference from "immediately opened". I also noted more earthiness, and modest acid, but not too much minerality.

Tannins are present but not objectionable. Between the tannin and the acid, i expect this can improve for a decade - despite what the experts write. Time will tell.

It also was a very nice accompaniment to a fairly gourmet burger (freshly ground chuck, slow grilled, sauteed onions), although it did not dramatically alter the taste of the burger.

Its seriously food friendly, delicious, ready now, but will likely gain complexity.

For this price, I'm impressed. I hope my rating is not influenced too much by its price.

I'm not sure if, as i consumed more, i faded (it was late) or the bottle changed/faded, but somehow it lost its magic to me. I'll update when i consume the next bottle but that may be a year since i think this will improve. Or is that "hope?" :-)

really good. surprising earthy notes that would indicate age, but juste really good shit. blue and dark berry notes paired surprisingly well with homemade pasta with red sauce. spicy red sauce and it held up with gusto. drink in next 1-2 years and you will impress your friends.

Vibrant ruby color. Aromas of raspberries, cherries and plums with a delightful spicy, floral, peppery combo – really fresh and fun. On the palate, this shows zippy acidity and dusty tannins, very nicely balanced and alive with tangy raspberry and summer’s juiciest red plum fruit. Spicy tones of black tea, rose petals, pepper, with a perfumed and lifted feel. Food-friendly and fresh but some solid complexity too, and a few years could entice out even more savory elements. This is a producer I find very reliable, and this one is lovely.

Simple Barbera d’Asti but very enjoyable. Medium bodied, forest floor and earthy with decent tannins. A great pasta wine!

Fair to use the expression “perfumed”. Opulent aroma.

I enjoy Barbera flavour, it’s nice young. This is very pretty, but a bit dilute. Soft approachable. It certainly should be on lots of cafe winelists.

But... it’s a bit of a lunch wine.

13.5%, screwcap YAY!

Not the finest bottle but still, wasted it in bad pizza. Don't be me. Raspberry and chocolate, fresh and with bitter tannins that didn't feel heavy or overwhelming. I thought it was better on day 2.

This wine is a great value choice. Delicious flavors of blackberry and cherry. Smooth and velvety with a touch of vanilla. Really a nice wine for around $15. Medium acidity and did well with a one hour decant. Finished on day two and was still delicious.

Retail $13. A nice Barolo that needs 2-4 hours of air. Great price. Red fruit forward, but not overly sweet. Nice acid balance.

Retail $13. Taste of strawberry/tart cherry (red fruit). Needs 2-4 hrs air, typical of a Barolo. Really good value. Becoming an everyday favorite. Goes well with tomato, so pizza, bruschetta or pasta.

Retail $13. It's a Barolo, so it needs a couple of hours of air. My wife has the refined palate and she said that this is a wine of which our oenophile friend would be proud. Red fruit, but not overly sweet, and a nice acid balance. It would hold up against a $30 wine.

Great QPR. We brought this bottle as a host gift and they opened it. I warned them that it really needed to decant for an hour, but it was reasonably good, but tight, for almost a full hour. The tannins seemed to soften and it opened up around them. A 2 hour decant seems about right.

Not extremely fruity, somewhat dry, which leads me to believe it will benefit from cellaring. The taste notes are characteristic of the region.

A real value at the $12 price point. I still believe it will be better in 2-5 years, but I probably won't wait that long to consume the remaining bottles. It looks like Total Wine has stopped carrying it, but I located 6 bottles at a store 30 mile away; I'll try to sock those away for a future time.

Drinking perfectly now. A true "pop and pour." Nose of dark fruit and earthy forest floor. Initial taste of raspberry tartness/acid with a dark cherry finish. An outstanding Quality to price ratio.

Medium ruby color with quick, clear legs and no sediment. Lovely, light intensity nose of flowers and spices with hints of smoke. Light body with good, firm acidity and young tannic balance. Flavors have some complexity, which includes a little strawberry, plum, fig, and mango notes. Medium finish and enough structure to carry a few more years. Better closer to room temp than cellar temp.
