We decided to open it as part of a blind tasting with two other couples, all wine enthusiasts. The other 3 wines in the tasting were all Napa cabs of the $130.00 to $150.00 price range but not quite as old as the Screaming Eagle. This wine came in second behind a 2004 Spottswoode and barely ahead of a 2012 Foretell. I have never spent this kind of money on wine and after this experience I never will. Clearly the owners of this brand have done a brilliant job of selling the sizzle, giving people with more money than they know what to do with another opportuinty to ostentatiously display their wealth. |

The Solari is a great wine but all six diners perfered the Kitchak. Maybe it was the food,lamb, we were eating or the white we had with the soup but I don't think this is Larkmead's best effort. |

After enjoying the '14 Wurtele with friends last night in violation of the Covid-19 quarantine it occured to me that of all the wines I have and drink Terra Valentine is the most consistly pleasing. No matter if it is the K block, the Yverdon or the Wurtele they never disappoint. |

In the third glass I detected the aroma of a new American made inner tube fresh out of the box. This may sound crazy but it is a very pleasent smell that many may associate with tar or some other petroleum smell. |

I see the open date has mover to 2017, I agree although very enjoyable this bottle was still a little tannic. This wine is clearly unique from Napa cabs of a similar price point. |
