4/9/2011 - ecola Likes this wine: 87 pointsAromas of red berries and some toasted oak with some floral action. Medium to full bodied. Red fruit with a little herb on the palate. A decent wine, but nothing to get worked up about. |

3/28/2011 - mxpbuy wrote: 89 pointsSampled 3/27/11. A nice enough Cab, that can generally be found at a pretty good price. Some black cherries, green vegitable elements, some red currants and cassis in the background but the wine drops a couple points on being still a little disjointed. It might come together in a few more years. If so, 90 or 91 point then and a bargain. |

The taste is very smooth with blackcurrant, chocolate, and smoky vanilla. The finish is pretty refined with moderate tannins. This wine is very good (the band-aid reduced the rating a couple of points for me) and was worth the $16 I paid for it at the clearance price, and would probably be worth up to $30. However, it is definitely not worth the $68 price tag on the bottle...not even close! |

3/16/2011 - jonradus wrote: 89 pointsThis wine has a great nose of blackcurrant, vanilla, and violet with some cedar. The blackcurrant really comes through on the taste, which is mildly tart and rich with a light cherry vanilla overtone. The finish is leathery with some tobacco and dusty cocoa tannins. The finish is pretty long. I like this wine, especially for the $15 I spent on it. |

12/4/2009 - Fozziedoggie wrote: 88 points.375ml bottle - Deep dark, rich red color. Nose of dark cherry and plum. Medium weight with good structure. Not much of a finish; alcohol is well integrated at this point. Merlot grape dominates this one for me. Nice effort, but definitely needs more cellar time to pull together -- Drink in 2011 or so. |

8/4/2009 - Fozziedoggie wrote: 84 points375ml bottle - Disjointed and disappointing; seems out of balance and hot. Drank over 2 hours with food and by itself, didn't get any better. Smell was muted, not much fruit or oak. Taste of pepper and some smoke; fruit was in the background, with sour cherry dominating. Not worthy of a reserve designation. |

3/8/2009 - clava wrote: 88 pointsTasted 3-8-09. Dark opaque maroon burgundy. Not much nose initially. Smelled dense, deep, integrated, some spicy oak, but did not give up much. Nose & palate noticeably less luscious than 18-24 mos. ago. Palate fairly seamless, tasted the cab franc, needed to be sipped with a meal, considerable density. A bit more fruit came around eventually. Impression was weighty & intense but without the delicious complexities tasted previously. Tasted same bottle the next day & found a little more fruit, some currants, still dense & a chewy almost sludgy quality. Not as bad as this sounds but certainly drank better in '07. |
