This pop and pour is in a decent place. It has a nice middle aged Cabernet Sauvignon aroma. The wine was dark, much darker really, in color and fruit perception than the glorious 1983 was at the same age. Still this is a pleasant wine that went good with my 4 meat ragu. There is a little chalk mineral on the backside and the finish is rather unremarkable. Unlike the 1983, this seems more toward the "modern" spectrum of winemaking, but still in no way over-the-top.

This wine has a nice nose of blackcurrant, violet, and cherry. There is, however, a band-aid overtone. The taste is very smooth with blackcurrant, chocolate, and smoky vanilla. The finish is pretty refined with moderate tannins. This wine is very good (the band-aid reduced the rating a couple of points for me) and was worth the $16 I paid for it at the clearance price, and would probably be worth up to $30. However, it is definitely not worth the $68 price tag on the bottle...not even close!

A bit astringent at this point. No fruit left to speak of. Gets a little better with air.

Very nice, paired with beef tenderloin. Didn't need too much time to open up. Smooth tanins.
