100% biodynamically farmed Pinot Meunier. Lot M19, ie. the fruit is from the 2019 harvest and probably bottled somewhere in early 2020. Disgorged on June 7th, 2021. 12,5% alcohol and dosage 0 g/l. Total production 5418 bottles.

Youthful, pale and quite limpid lime-green color. The nose feels quite fruity but also a bit odd with aromas of fresh yellow fruits, some leesy notes of yeast, a little bit of ripe quince, light crunchy notes of white fruits, a faint hint of toasty autolysis and a touch of something funky or slightly cidery. The wine feels rather ripe and juicy yet very dry on the palate with a fine, brisk and quite balanced mousse, a medium body and flavors of sweet Golden Delicious apple, some zesty citrus fruit notes, a little bit of white currant, light crunchy notes of quince, a hint of cidery funk and a touch of leesy autolysis. Bright, high acidity. The overall feel is pretty crisp and lively without feeling particularly austere. The finish is crisp, dry and palate-cleansing with a long aftertaste of sharp Granny Smith apple, some sweeter notes of yellow fruits, light funky cidery tones, a little bit of yeasty autolysis, a crunchy hint of quince and a red-toned touch of redcurrants.

An enjoyably refreshing and palate-cleansing Pinot Meunier with subtly funky overtones. Not too austere - as some Bourgeois-Diaz wines can be, especially in cooler vintages - but not too ripe either. The overall flavor profile is maybe a bit simple and linear, but that might change as the wine ages and hopefully develops some additional tertiary complexity. Nice stuff, but nothing really memorable.

2019 Meunier disgorged 7Jun22 without dosage. Classic Meunier fruit on the nose. Initially a little tight, with acid creating a wall on the front of the tongue, but 30 minutes and a bit of warming settles it down, and the fruit emerges, if just a bit less ripe tasting than a lot of modern Meunier. The acid is still there but working more conplimentary. High upside, needs time.

The Bourgeois-Diaz 3C is a zero dosage lemon mineral delight. Disgorged 7/6/2022, this wine appeals to the extra brut fan club, never rich, but also not lacking in flavor. I get so much stony chalkiness here sitting over a base of lemon danish. There’s also a hint of fall leaves in there that develops with some time and air. Really lovely champagne that has a clear sense of place, and worked beautifully with sushi. Clearly unfiltered, the wine is a sort of hazy yellow gold, and quite pretty for an unfiltered wine if you ask me.

07/2017 disgorgement. Definitely showing some secondary notes. Nice complexity but it feels a bit austere. I wonder if a touch of dosage would have made this a bit friendlier.

Pours deep pink in the glass, with consistent bubbles. Nose is marked with subtle red berry fruit and some hints of yeast/biscuit. Palate pretty similar. A rather full body for a Champagne with moderate acidity. More of a food wine than something to refresh with.

Lillies, lemon juice, ripe apricots, flint/slate (can't really decide which) and fresh baked bread on the nose. Smells absolutely delicious, with a fiercely high intensity of aromas. The palate adds fresh green almonds, bitter honey and is very much driven by the autolytic yeast flavors, as well as the stone. This just tastes really nicely bitter. Medium + intensity of flavors.

Medium body with a high mousse and medium - acid. An absolute pleasure to drink, and especially to smell. I really want to try their other wines.

Tasted in a lineup of 12 Coteaux Champenois and this one truly dominated. What a little number. Pale ruby in the glass. Nose is a bit tight at this stage, but not entirely closed (decanted the wine for 2.5 hours) - some unripe red berry fruit, blackcurrant, baking spices. Medium-bodied with pure elegance and finesse floating through the palate. Beautifully expressed acidity balanced nicely with the fresh fruit and slightly grippy tannins. No faults here, has A LOT of evolution ahead, so I can't wait to see if I can get my hands on a bottle again soon.

Air brings in more acid on the finish, which at this stage is a bit strong. Really good bones on this bottle, should be great in a few years.

Very good, fun. A zero dosage, biodynamically farmed 100% Pinot Meunier that's nicely crisp, with slightly rounded character to its pure fruit. Avg+ complexity, and length. A great value, and an excellent aperitivo wine. Easily recommended

Pours a deep gold with a slight hint of rust. This is powerhouse of a meunier, beautifully textured with notes of roasted nuts, dark red fruit, and a salty minimality. Super enjoyable, up there with some of the best PM's I've had.

A wonderful wine sourced from an even more wonderful place. Cheers to Aline and Au Bon Manger.

Almost 2 years on from my last note, and this is, I suspect, the last bottle that I will be able to source from the 30 July 2014 disgorgement. 60/40 PM/PN. 3g/l dosage.

With nearly 9 years bottle age post-disgorgement this now has a darker yellow hue. The nose is not so aggressive as it was in 2019, but I still get wasabi, peas and smoke, but in an attractive way. The palate is very crisp, focussed, steely, green apples, but less overtly acidic than I recall from previously and rather well-balanced. There's a rather attractive creamy note on the finish which is very more-ish.

More oxidative than the other BD wines I’ve tried, the red grapes definitely show more of their character than the Chardonnay to me. Deep ripe red apples, some spice notes up front. There’s acid on the finish keeping it in balance, but competing with a slight bitterness that disappears with significant air. Think this needs some more time to really integrate better.
