5/10/2024 - mks83 Likes this wine: 88 pointsDay 1: old-school as expected. Color: clear garnet. Nose: strawberry, raspberry, red plum skins, with a kick of seedy spiciness and caramel. The mouth is tart - extremely high acidity, low-moderate but sandy tight tannins. Kind of harsh at this moment, but will be integrated in 3 years. At this moment, a restaurant wine that needs to be paired with intense meat dishes such as quail or duck. Also worked with Bolognese pasta with addition of finely chopped dried Shiitake (my mom’s recipe). Good potential. 88-89. |

4/3/2024 - Hiker4life70 Likes this wine: 89 pointsSlightly reductive upon opening but opens up within 15 minutes. Red cherry, pits, pomegranate, mild cola, leafy, tobacco, and earth. Stony, mineral finish that is more noticeable the 2nd day. There is nice acidity, fine tannins. Very food friendly. Very pleasant but not the greatest QPR. |

8/21/2023 - SuperSomm Likes this wine: 89 pointsMedium lemon colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, charred wood, butter, toast, hazelnut and wet stone. Medium taste of ripe yellow apples, ripe lime, charred wood, hazelnuts, butter, toast and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Bourgogne Blanc that has matured well. Feels a bit younger than the previous bottle. Needed half an hour to open. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with fish or poultry. |

3/15/2024 - markydecker Likes this wine: 89 pointsDelicate and nuanced. Acidity dominates, which is usually fine with me, but I do like some fruit along with it. This is light to medium bodied and a bit hollow. Sour cherry and dried spices, but the palate does not live up to the nose. Hard to find premier cru characteristics in this wine. Color is slightly brown with a bit of bricking. It’s a decent food wine, but a bit lacin the pleasure department. |

3/13/2024 - Nutty08 Likes this wine: 92 pointsLight in style and color, with strawberry and cherry fruit profile. There’s some reduction in the nose but seemed to blow off. Rather light in tone and intensity, staying fresh and vibrant through the finish. |

3/12/2024 - galewskj wrote: 94 pointsA bottle a few months ago was rubbish and this one was glorious. Pop and pour, I was concerned right away at the extremely deep gold color. But then I remembered its Meursault. It had some oxidative notes but very much alive with a wonderful complexity that had a hallmark of minerality racing through it. If I owned any of this, I would drink it now or soon. |

3/8/2024 - rmalloy wrote: 88 pointsBoring and overpriced. Sometimes I think the supposed “elegance” of Burgundy is really just hype and lack of character. I’ll take the average dolcetto instead. An overgeneralization to be sure, but this particular wine has no business scoring 92 on CT. It’s like people are giving it points for being bland and boring because that’s what Volnay is supposed to be. |

3/8/2024 - drwine2001 wrote: NRRuby with little clearing. Slight funk on the nose which made me wonder at first whether it was corked, but it was not. Licorice and some pepperiness on the nose. Medium weight, very deep black cherry, soil, great acidity and salinity, and ripe tannins. This has matured and fleshed out beautifully. Well worth the wait and just at the beginning of its drinking window. Outstanding Volnay. |
