2/3/2022 - mysterycooper Likes this wine: NRGood lively fruity Gamay with savoury earthiness coming in to balance nicely; that's straight out of the bottle. Within 10 or so minutes in the glass it became a fairly generic but pleasant Morgon though I tend to expect a little more from a Côte du Py. Not convinced time will add much to this. |

6/12/2021 - James-Stans07 wrote: NRMedium intensity nose, the cherry pops out immediately, though followed by some cassis and slight earthy notes. A very fruity wine, with low tannins as expected. The red fruits are very dominant but are accompanied nicely by the acidity, which immediately after opening was a bit muted. Don't hesitate to serve cold. Overall, a good, respectable example of Morgon, but even better can be found even at this price point |

2/2/2018 - macaujames wrote: 88 pointsMy first Cote du Py wine. Again has some basalt in its low key raspberry, leather, strawberry and earth aromas. Its medium bodied a bit chunky, restrained and crunchy blue and red fruits with basalt hints palate has good acidity. Ends medium long and refreshing with fine tannin. 13.5%. Needs 2 hours aeration and or 1-2 years laying down. Improves and broadens out on days two and three. |

11/8/2017 - ParisWino Likes this wine: 89 pointsMedium ruby bordering on purple, and medium bodied; this is no thin Beaujolais. Ample red and blue fruits with a streak of liquorice, actually reminding me a bit of mukhwas (the sugared fennel-based snack one gets in Indian restaurants). There's an underlying sense of minerality and ample acidity that imparts a sense of freshness. Although the tannins are not too prominent, I suspect this wine will improve with a couple of years of rest. Good value. |

Plenty of perfect balance, great fruit, superb acidity, and noticeable tannin on the finish. Will be phenomenal later. This could be a 30-40 year wine, seriously. 94+ pts. 5/24/2013 - 99tollap wrote: 93 pointsThis was another pop and pour, this time at rack temperature (16 degrees). The last time I only tasted this wine, but last night I shared a bottle with a friend. This is just a stunning wine, it really is and tasted even better than I remember. It's the balance that really flaws me. The ripe berry flavours are cut by the most gorgeous, refreshing acidity. I have 1 bottle left but will be seeking out more. |

3/7/2013 - sawira wrote: 94 pointsI bought this based on campingfleurie's glowing CT note. Tried for the first time this week, and enjoyed over 3 nights. Short version - I'm so glad I found some of this, it's amazing. Possibly the best Bojo I've ever tried. Huge, but not in a fat, clumsy way. Tight and focused but also rich and full. Phenomenal purity, balance, acidity, buried tannins and decadent juiciness in a stylish, sleek but oh so deliciously concentrated package. I hate to be a clone, but I like campingfleurie's words, they are spot on "cured, crystallized purple flowers." Total score. Save next bottle for at least another 3-5 years. For me, 94 pts now, with one or two pts upside. |

2/17/2013 - 99tollap wrote: 92 pointsThis improved steadily with more drinking. Splash decanted, but could have done with an hour maybe. Nose is just pure strawberry: incredible. The strawberry is there in the mouth but is quickly joined by beautiful balsamic and a bit of mint, some woody flavours and great acidity. The finish stretches on and is very well balanced. Definitely a food wine, but a fantastic one at that. |

11/17/2010 - campingfleurie wrote: 88 pointsDrunk in the long shadow of its senior stablemate. Previous vintages of this have majored on rounded, red, glace cherry. At this age, this vintage is darker and flatter / more compacted. Faintly-creamy, slightly bitter-skinned, black-red cherry, plus minor spice. Length. Relatively rough tannins compared to its stablemate. Balancing acidity. All rather under wraps. Will fill out a little, and the length keeps grabbing attention: will probably still be going in 2018. 88 pts now. |
