Palate: Creamy tart raspberries, more cherry kirsch; briefly sharp tannins and quite acidic. Improves quite a bit on day two with everything softening and the cherry from day one shifting to more cranberry on day two. Sadly, I never picked up the earthy rusticity that I found in this wine a month ago. |

2/6/2024 - andrewfowler Likes this wine: 89 pointsSuper complex aroma – red apple, cinnamon, banana, bubblegum, orange zest, butter, some brown sugar/caramel, and poached pear. The palate is beautifully warm and spicy, akin to mulled cider, with a viscous texture and a certain Falstaffian good cheer, resolving with brown butter and a long finish. So I’m not normally a huge fan of Grenache Blanc, but this absolutely worked. I’d love a little more acidity, but if you like buttery and full-bodied whites, this’ll be your jam. |
