4/9/2023 - SirJ Likes this wine: 92 pointsHad Taco bowl with spicy Quorn, corn, mango, avocado, arugula, coriander, rice and Sirachamajo. To this a Louis Lequin Santenay Vieilles Vignes 2018, truly a wonderful PN. Young of course, great acidity, amazing red fruit, complex, layer upon layer. Very good combo for the food. Drink or hold. |

11/4/2022 - forceberry wrote: 90 pointsLa Comme is a 1er Cru vineyard that sits at the northern reaches of Santenay, next to the vineyards of Chassagne-Montrachet. The wine is made with fully destemmed fruit that is first cold-soaked for several days. After approximately two weeks of spontaneous fermentation the wine is pressed off the skins and racked into 228-liter Allier oak pièces (25% new). Aged for 16-18 months in oak barrels, the fined, filtered and bottled. 13,5% alcohol. |

8/14/2021 - Jeremy Holmes wrote: NRSealed under Diam, this is really good. It is deep and muscular, 'old school' Batard of explosive power. There are complex aromatics of white peach, mint, truffle cream and smoky minerals. It has great weight and depth, with sappy orchard fruit flavours and chalky underlying structure. It has serious length, citrus rind freshness and plenty left in the tank for future development. |

2/20/2021 - Paul S wrote: 91 pointsDinner at Bar-a-Thym (Bar-a-Thym): Leaning into oxidation, and rather light for a Batard, but that aside, this was a fairly yummy drop. The nose showed the typical rancio shades of browned apples and dried fig peel of a premoxed wine, but these were accompanied by more typical mature Burgundy notes of honey and red apples, maybe a touch of butter and florals at the edges. The palate was a bit fresher I thought, with decent enough acidity for a 2005 and a good bit of minerality running through its notes of honey and red apples. There was some power and buttery depth there for sure, only abating at the end of a long, minerally finish, where those rancio notes of browned fruit set in again. All in all, not bad, especially when paired with food. |

9/26/2019 - Paul S wrote: 91 pointsDinner with Sasi (Yan, National Gallery, Singapore): I preferred this upon release some 10-11 years back. It is still decently good though, if clearly not a top shelf Batard. The nose still had that modern lick of vanilla and toast influenced oakiness, with some fat white fruit and butter notes at the edges of the bouquet. The palate had the weight and depth of a Grand Cru, with plenty of plump, fat white fruit, and riper, almost tropical shades, but there was also plenty of oaky, woody character that stood out - a bit distractingly at points. Otherwise, a decent enough wine that had an okay balance and a decent sense of length at the spicy finish. |

2/10/2016 - JonnyG Likes this wine: 92 pointsNight One of Two Big Sydney Extravaganzas (Sydney, Australia): Evocative nose of buttered popcorn and caramel. It took a lot of air for the palate to catch up, but once it did, it was impressive, and a reminder of the importance of decanting so many well made whites. The last sip was the best, and the wine had not nearly plateaued at this point, IMO. |
