Huge body but enough acidity to balance it. Short finish but it works. Good on its own but borderline amazing paired with a seared tuna steak on top of charred veggies and a mild curry sauce. |

This smells of classic Northern Rhone, not hugely expressive but a nice little bit of complexity and an appealing expression. The nose is of creosote, crushed granite, blueberry, cherry, black pepper, seaweed, and toasted brown spices. The palate enters on rich expansive blueberry with medium tannin and medium acid. The finish closes nicely on crushed granite with black pepper and while not terribly long it is pleasant. All in all this has aged nicely and has improved well over the course of its 17 year life. |

Quite aromatic with florals with violets and wet stone notes. Fleshy and long with sweet purple fruits on the palate with quite restrained tannins. The relatively large 10% Viognier component shows in the openness and the floral aromas, leaving a package which is delicious now while some other wines from the region would likely still be brooding at this age. |

There’s a ripe acidity and notable length. At 24 hours it added complexity and more aromatic character. A chocolate malted milk element on the nose emerged. I think it is totally ready to drink, and is very satisfying as a table wine. Decant it and savor it. |
