Medium + intensity nose. Apricot, peach, pineapple and honey with lemon zest notes and some honeysuckle. Dry, high acidity, high alcohol. Medium plus body, prounced flavour intensity and good follow through from nose. Medium plus finish. Very good wine, well balanced, good intensity and reasonable complexity. Oog: Kristalhelder vol, strogeel, grote viscositeit en mooie tranen. Neus: Zuiver en vol tot intens, Limoen, ananas, perzik, lavendel, banaan, amandelen en een zachte houttoets van eik. White	2019 Ridgeback Chenin Blanc Paarl more	Options Post a Comment View Jessie and Max's profile Report Issue 10/1/2022 - Jessie and Max Likes this wine: 90 points From Paarl (cool climate because of altitude), made from 30 y.o. vines, fermented in 400L old oak barrels, blended with a little Viognier, which add a little aromatic floral note. But what really stands out about this wine is its mandarin orange peel nose, plus the hints of vanilla, making it reminiscent of a Creamsicle. After the mandarin burst, it has a strikingly long, toasty finish. I (Jessie) really liked this one. (Note that Max is not participating because the poor guy got Covid...though as I type this up, he's feeling better now and can smell again!) Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comment

Restrained nose of vanilla, almonds and orange peel. On the palate off dry, high acidity, medium alcohol. Crisp and refreshing, lemon and peach, calls for seafood. Good to very good. Tasting of wines from South Africa presented by Lynda Mellor. Wines supplied by Cape Wine and Food of Staines. For me, this was the best wine of the tasting. Upfront cassis colour and flavour. Med(+) garnet colour. 45mm DIAM enclosure that had sediment on it. A right-bank Bordeaux blend from RSA. 37% Merlot, 27% Cab Sauv, 24% Cab. Franc, 12% P.Verdot. On the nose it’s med(+) intensity yielding plums, sweet spice, vanilla, liquorice, cedar, raspberry and hints of leather. The body is med(+), the acidity medium (surprisingly) with fine medium tannin (also surprising). Nice balance. Pronounced intensity. Decent length carried by dying fruit. Dark garnet in colour. Pronounced nose. Earthy, spice, dark fruit, mulberry, minty, cedar. Full body, high pH and high ABV. Intense dark fruit jam, fine and well integrated tannins. Very smooth.
