However, I don't frequent them very much. Once you learn what you like, you'll be able to source online and it's so much cheaper! Generally speaking, you have to take what the shops tell you at your own risk. They will sell what they carry, not necessarily what you may crave or want. I will use our local shops for when they are doing some tastings of wines I want to try or experiment with, or when I need a really unique wine they carry. Most of the time they are way overpriced to buy from.

Wine is the ultimate elixir for socializing, IMO. I only found wine about 17 years ago at age 45, I'm 62 now. Have done similar to what you want to do. Have been to Bordeaux, Tuscany, Sicily, South Africa in our quest and of course Napa many times....but still so many regions to go! So lucky you got to honeymoon in Santorini, it's such a beautiful place. Only got to spend one day there 25 years ago. Need to go back and spend a couple of weeks there when we're retired for sure...then I can try all their wines! Feel free to connect here and ask any questions you mau have, any time. Cheers!
