As from five year ago, Very nice bottle. Improves a bit with time.

Probably at its end.

Stewed prunes, burnt earth, fine tannins, and full bodied. Opened up after a good hour to 90 min. Nice long finish. Went great with rabbit saddle wrapped in bacon. 6-24-21 at Vianda

3 hrs decant helped calm it down, but not going to be around much longer. Musty plums. Drink up!

Dark black purple and no transparency. Aromas of cherry, licorice and black raspberry. Smooth and slightly chewy. Dry and flavors of cherry.

Smokey campfire and bacon on the nose. Powerful but graceful. Tannins haven't completely resolved but show great cool climate notes of tar, meat, and wild herbs. Terrific bottle.

This felt a bit nondescript and lacking in intensity. The finish was a bit flat and short and lacking in richness. I happened to have the '15 Tycanon Tytanium open at the same time and that was far more dynamic and interesting.

Alcohol comes through a bit strong on first sip but mellows after an hour or so after opening. Dark fruits with moderate tannins and medium finish.

Super funky on the nose. Very savory on the palate. Bacon, olives. A hint of spring flowers but it's overtaken by the strong savory scents of bacon fat. Think I'll go back to drinking beer.

Big wine with a killer flavor profile of bacon, leather, pepper, blueberry, blackberry, and purple Razzles. I've become a massive fan of Gary's vineyard over the years, having tasted pinots produced by Morgan, Loring, and Miner. This vineyard has some distinctive qualities that seem to jump out regardless of the producer and the varietal.

Deep dark fruit. Some smoke and scorched earth. This was medium to full bodied and very feral. Meat, blood, charred beef, some floral notes on the back end.

Dark, shinny, opaque juice from Santa Lucia Highlands. Concentrated black fruit with a huge black pepper overtone. Licorice and spices are also present. Good length. Allow it to breathe at least half-hour before serving. Recommended

This has improved again over the last few years. This now has more weight, more excitement and more precision. It's altogether more serious and expressive. There is spice, but nothing over-done, there's some racy intensity of red and black fruit. This is a great example of a wine that shines with more age; I was a bit disappointed when I tasted this in previous years, but this is so much more virile and decadent now vs. before. It's amazing the difference a couple of years can make. This may be better still in two years - a bit more softness could make this better still.

A bit simple, with a bit too much spice, not as much richness or sweetness that I like. Nice enough though not so seriously endowed.

A classic 90-point wine--an easy sipper that's tasty right out of the bottle. It's not a Cote Rotie, but it's a great value.

PnP. Nice nose of dark fruit, pine and vanilla. Palate was less inviting, with sweet and stewed dark fruit, a little cedar and faint, but grippy, tannins. After an hour, the fruit had subsided and integrated with tobacco and hints of leather. The tannins were softened with a medium finish.

excellent fruit. Hint of dried flowers and vitamin C tablets. A bit bitter and still reduced upon opening. This opens after 90 mins or so. Chewy tannins and cleansing acidity. A bit of alcoholic burn on the finish.

Big red fruit from the glass along with some spice...hint of white pepper. Black cherry, boysenberry, toasted oak and hint of vanilla on the palate. Tannins still moderate but integrated with medium plus alcohol. Long finish with the return of the white pepper nuance. Pretty big wine that can still age but drinking nicely now.
