2/15/2024 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRPnP; Very good showing. This offered a rather profuse nose of red fruits, cinnamon, brown spice, soil and forest. I was really surprised at just how in the zone this is and any question about having the structure to continue on this impressive path can be put to rest. Brilliant, fresh, loads of fun. highly recommended |

2/12/2024 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRSlow-O three hours. This is really taking its time getting to its preferred plateau. First world problem, I get it. That said, there's so much energy and freshness here the red fruit crackles, the herbs linger in the air, and the soil reminds of places far away. VG wine with a vg future. If I had any, I'd be looking to revisit this in 4-5 years at the earliest, fwiw. For its full potential it's highly recommended |

2/12/2024 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRPnP enjoyed over two hours. Four years since my last one and this continues to impress. Firmly within its preferred window now, a place it will occupy for many years. There's so much to admire here: complexity, superb balance, vg freshness, etc. It's my final bottle and here I find myself wanting a case for the coming ten years. Such a joy. 14,0% abv. highly recommended |

2/9/2024 - brett228 Likes this wine: 92 pointsAlmost everything I expect for normale BDM. Red cherry, meaty, nice exotic spice nose with fresh ginger. Mid acidic, and well absorbed tannin makes nice texture in palate. A little jammy at first but slowly gets the balance. All in good form in 3 hours, and lasts very long time. |

2006 Azienda Agricola La Torre Brunello di MontalcinoSangiovese more |
2/2/2024 - thesternowl wrote: 92 pointsThe 2006 La Torre pours a slightly hazy garnet color; browning with some rim variation. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous and showing the typical nature of the vintage; full, round, generous. The fruit is mostly desiccated in profile with leather, espresso, chocolate, earth and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. The structure is very well integrated but keeping everything propped up. The finish is long, lovely. Drink now. I wouldn’t hold these past 2026. Grazie Tim! |

12/7/2023 - Rezy13 wrote: NRThis bottle is not as sweet and expressive as previous bottle, lots of mineral, almost a carrot-like sweetness, sour cherry and slight plum, clay and earth and tobacco, fresh acids, still easy to drink and food friendly just missing that pop of sweet fruit and extra finesse, this bottle feels kind of old school in style. |

11/23/2023 - Lee Mod 3 Likes this wine: 93 pointsDrank with family at Thanksgiving. Maybe not appropriate to drink an Italian wine with the traditional "American" meal, but this was excellent -- very smooth, but also strong flavors to go with a rich smoked turkey and robust dressing and sides. Hardly any tannins -- long finish. Really outstanding wine. |

9/24/2023 - cjoetucker@aol.com Likes this wine: 90 pointsRuby color, bright, red fruit. On the palate I got notes of dried cherries, cassis, plum, red fruit. Aromas of cherry, oak, and spice. Smooth tannins, medium body, this is pure, fresh, pretty. Silky smooth and easy drinking, this is a very nice expression of Sangiovese. |

6/10/2023 - Al-Vino Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis was surprisingly drinkable for a fairly young Brunello. Has very smooth finish with no hard edges. Doesn’t have the tannic core for long term cellaring like other premium Brunellos but still a very good bottle that will pair well with most foods especially pastas & pizzas. |
