Yakima Valley Mourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre more

Clear almost medium garnet with bits. Med+ meniscus.
Nose is raspberry, black currant, blackberry and green herbs.
Palate is more powerful. Both red and dark fruits with raspberry leading the way. Cherry tobacco, baking spice and licorice.

Med+ length & complexity. Smooth & balanced.

Quick decant. Nose shows black cherry, Maraschino cherry, and roses. Supple, vibrant red cherry palate laced with minerals, lilac, black peppercorns, and carnations. Finish delivers a quick zip of thin tannins and acidity followed by black tea, raisin, and unripe raspberry. Palate's the start and the finish is a bit disappointing.

Onto its tertiary phase, and about ready to bomb-out... probably within the year. Nice fruit for what remains, but without the tannic tension this has become rather one-dimensional. Easily quaffable. Drink now.

Haven, Tampa. Big! Big acid, big alcohol, big tannin, big pleasure. Decanted for as long as we could at the dinner table, with aggressive swirling: this significantly opened up the aromas and softened the tannins. This wine likes to be slapped around. All blackberry juiciness with a bite, lovely finish, and demands a hunk of grilled rare or medium rare meat. Masculine, juicy, alcoholic, and straightforward: sometimes just what the night calls for.

Even after 3 hours this still hadn’t fully opened up yet, so I’d give this years or many hours in a decanter. Nonetheless, excellent density, very much Petit Verdot. Big, tannic, rich, dark. Good fruit character, a bit dusty. Problem is, the perceived alcohol is much too high, making this feel somewhat bitter and disjointed, so best with rich food. 14.5%

Needs time to open. Inky with chewy texture. With air, some good dark fruit and acid eventually emerged. Will wait at least a year before opening next bottle.

This was excellent, rich purple fruits, a touch of funk, medium bodies with balanced tannins. Drink up!

Dark black color with a slight meniscus. On nose, dark cherry, dark chocolate, savory herbs, saline and blackberry. On palate, blackberry, black cherry, plum and meat notes with stewed tomato flavor with lots of air (didn't like that). Medium tannins, high acidity, medium+ body and medium+ finish. Enjoyable but not a re-buy. Needs food. I usually really like savory wines like this but the tomato paste flavor knocked down the score for me. 90+/-

Corovin'ed a glass to see how this was coming -- I believe it has a long way to go. Broad shouldered and muscular, will need more time to fully resolve. If this fully knits together it could be something special indeed. I'm not touching a bottle for a couple more years.

Tasty juice - too bad it's clocking in at 15+% ABV. The excessive alcohol diminishes the experience... :(

Maybe didn't let it breathe enough...a little tight for me, but opened up by the end of the meal. Paired with braised duck legs and not as good as the petit verdot we had side by side with it

Currant, blueberry, violets on the nose. Nice peppery entry, tight but smooth tannins, blueberry, dark blue fruits, vanilla, nice long finish. Opened a couple hours before tasting, recommend generous decant. Very nice.

Very good! This is a no no sense rhone blend with some beautiful fruit and soft on the palate. This is not a big bombastic red blend. More refined and went beauftip with sushi.

Tasted after 1 hour of air. Medium ruby color. Tangy strawberry fruit. Nice spice on the mid palate lift. Some tea. Medium tannins. Excellent balance and freshness here. Medium plus finish.

Deep purple colour. Blueberries, blackberries, violets, black pepper, herbs and minerals on the nose. Taste of blackberries, blueberries, black pepper, herbs, minerals and spices. Long and dry finish. A very complex and great wine that has potential for aging. Goes well with beef, game or lamb.
