Those ever so slightly oxidative notes are held in check with serious minerals, and a slight touch of malo richness. Perfectly balanced and in a nice spot, though I do not see it benefiting from further aging. |

Not as funky as I would have expected based on the visual but showed a nice mix of assorted citrus and some stony minerality with a slightly funky, natty undertone. High acidity and very dry on the finish. This is not for everyone but I dug it. |

9/2/2022 - mattym19 Likes this wine: 91 pointsBy the bottle at Crooked Ram in Manchester, VT. Nose is so lifted and fresh with that obvious (but not necessarily offensive) “natural” edge. Violets, cranberries, rubies (I don’t really know what what rubies smell like but I assume it’s like this). Baking spice and rosemary on the finish. It has an almost cru-Beaujolais sense about it. Very lovely. Palate is a bit more rustic, definitely has lift and freshness but also has a little bit of funk. More cranberries with raspberries and a bit of cherry licorice with a funky natural finish. Super good pairing with the porchetta and still quite good on its own. Getting less funky on both the nose and palate with air, so maybe decant it if your tastes align with mine ; ) |

Layers of honey, just a bit of apricot and then more honey. I don't actually like real honey but I love it in a wine meant to be sweet. Paired wonderfully with steamed snow crab and salt potatoes (another upstate NY delicacy :) ). |

Reminded me of a cross between a Sauternes and a monk's beer. Anyway, delicious and more of a food wine than a sit-on-the-porch quaffer, IMO. I think this could go with anything pork-based and many Chinese or Thai dishes. |
